Surprising Value
UPDATE: My son has gone through a pair of AAs, driving it in lakes and pools. It has spent a good amount of time fully submerged in water with batteries in it and it still operates. This thing is awesome. It took a little building but the glue was up to the task. The instructions were kind of weak when putting the bridge and stairs together, but for a kid who really wants a "cargo ship" for his birthday, this is pretty much the only option out there. For $25, it comes with a motor as well. I didn't expect it to work this well.

Do not buy
Not worth the price. Tiny pieces and you have to super glue everything and nothing lines up. The directions are all in Chinese so super hard to figure out. I do not recommend at all. I wouldโve returned but my son still wanted it. My fingers are covered in super glue.

Nice Model
Was a nice model, but was the wrong scale for me. Gave it to the R/T Boat Club to build

Great Model With RC Conversion Potential
Really enjoyable model to build, and it also makes a great platform for an RC conversion. I assembled mine and converted it to full RC using a small 2-in-1 ESC/receiver salvaged from an old RC car. After adding some ballast to get the ship sitting properly at the waterline, it floats nicely and is fully controllable. Itโs now ready for its maiden voyage around the local ponds and pools. A fun build on its own, but even better if you enjoy modifying models and want to turn it into something functional.

Glue is an issue
The ship goes together easily but the wheel house is almost impossible to put together

Detailed Model Ship.
Not a cheap kid's toy...it's for adults also. A surprisingly detailed model kit, with a great instruction sheet. Has the "containers" just like on the box illustration. No painting required, as the parts are already in six colors, with a white hull. Model is 12" long, by 2.5" wide, and is motorized to a single screw propeller. No AA batteries (2) included. Detail suggests that it is for age 14+ or adult to assemble. 1:400 scale.

GARBAGE
Complete GARBAGE don't waste your money. The pieces you have to put together break at the SLIGHTEST TOUCH, the pieces do not fit together and everything about this item is CHEAP and breaks easy.

The Container Ship Could Be Close To 1/350 Scale
The package states the model ship is 1/500 scale. The model cargo container is 7 mm wide X 8 mm high X 200 mm long. Actual size military cargo containers are 8 ft wide X 8.5 ft high X 20 ft long. Commercial cargo containers can be 8 ft wide X 10 ft high X 20 ft long. Container scale calculates loosely to 1/350, close enough. There are many 1/350 warship models but no merchant container cargo ships in that scale. It is not a large ocean cargo ship but more representative of a smaller coastal ship.
