Great for small models
These are fantastic cutters for models. I build the 1/144 scale Gundams. If you have ever built those before, you know just how many TINY pieces there are. These cut the plastic sprues very well. There's still a little to trim off, but nothing is perfect. One of the reviewers said that the model pieces would stay on the sprue after cutting. I didn't believe them. But it is true. I think these leave just the smallest thread of plastic connecting them, but the pieces just pop right off the sprue, no problem. The one issue (not enough to deduct a star) is that I wish these had a small spring to force them apart. It looks like they should, there's a piece of metal coming out of one of the handles, but I can't figure out what it's for.I will say to be careful with these. The blades are offset slightly. That's a feature, not a bug. But it does mean that if you press the wrong blade against the sprue piece, the other blade will big some plastic out of the piece. I learned that the hard way, but quickly figured it out. Again, not really enough to deduct a star from this tool, but a slight annoyance. This tool is well built and lubricated. I bought two.

410 are great cutters! (Ordered 410T though)
I love the Xuron 410 cutters. They are inexpensive and durable and make clean, flat cuts. Unfortunately I had wanted the 410T (lower profile jaws) but I received a standard set of 410 cutters in a 410T sleeve. I can always use more cutters so I just kept them, but if you need the T model, look closely at the cutters you receive.

Cheap in quality and price-
I am disappointed enough to NEVER buy another pair of cutters from Xuron.I’ve had these for less then 4 days- used them for maybe an hour on 22g silver and they broke midway through a coil leaving me ONCE AGAIN- with no clippers and having to go run to Lowe’s just to finish my commission project. They are the second pair I’ve gotten from xuron to do so.When they say soft metals they should likely specify dead soft and nothing more.Would not Reccomend for jewelry work-The only upside is that they are inexpensive- I guess I got what I paid for.

Model Kit Builder Review
I’m reviewing this as a Gunpla/model kit builder. When my old nippers broke, i needed a new one quick and temporary. As for performance, these nippers cut through but i feel aren’t sharp enough to get a clean cut. I notice this by the amount of pressure i have to apply to get the piece out. With higher quality ones, you only need a bit and it would cut somewhat like butter. The tip is also a bit large to get into smaller spaces of 1/144 kits. Overall, i expected this from the price so no blow to wallet. Again, this is a review based on using this for plastic model kits.

Close cuts on sprues without warping, good for Gunpla
I use these as sprue cutters for soft plastic pieces, like Gundam models. Provided I have the right angle, I can get wickedly close cuts without any warping or "lightening" of dark plastics. I've even nipped tiny bits of excess off without a problem. The pair I received DID have a spring. When I clip, they spring back open. They're also very cushy and comfy. My hands get sore from arthritis pretty quickly, and these let me do a lot of work before I need a break.A great choice for soft plastic sprues, especially at this price point.

Required feature as a "Sprue-cutter" - fully met.
Unless you knew exactly what to look for... one would hardly be able to identify the unique and required feature of a "Sprue-cutter".Even the close-up photograph of this tool doesn't do an adequate job of illustrating its unique and necessary physical design. To be concise, a "Sprue" is the left-over projection that must be removed from a product that has been fabricated from liquid-poured mold.Most-times the liquid is molten-lead and removal of this sprue requires a precision-designed cutter that will cut only this projection, which is the result of excess lead sitting within the miniature funnel, part of the mold, necessary to safely pour the molten lead into the mold with minimal (if any) spillage. The cutter has to be thin, have a rounded opening between the cutter blades and be able to sit closely against the molded piece plus strong enough to cut the sprue without tool breakage! This particular tool fulfills all requirements, including the added ability of use as a simple wire-cutter for electronics wiring.

You will get the 410T even though the tool is not marked as such
Really great product, you will indeed get the 410T even though the tool is not stamped that way. Like the other reviewer, I was also concerned that I got the correct product because I noticed the same "410" tool stamp number on the shears. I contacted Xuron with my concern and here is a copy of that correspondence:"I recently purchased a pair of your 410T shears online. I received them today and noticed they were only marked "410 micro shear" on the back of the cutting heads. Did I get ripped off? Or are all the 410 varients simply marked as a 410. Thank you for any help you can provide,Ryan""Ryan, Thank you for your email. We are sure that you have received the correct tool because the Model410T that you ordered is a variant of the Model 410 and is not marked differently on the tool. Please let us know if you have any further questions."

The Best
These are the greatest cutters I have ever used. Period. They are incredibly durable and precise. You may wonder how precise can they really be, so I'll tell you this: I used them to cut meteorites into tiny cubes measuring less than 1mm per side. Not only did the Xuron's cut well (reducing waste) but they also held up for thousands and thousands of cuts. This is saying a lot since most meteorites are basically a bit of silicate mixed with a lot of metal.

Quality clippers
I had been using a set of generic sprue clippers for a while which I bought from a national hobby chain in the UK. When they recently broke I decided to buy a set of Xuron clippers having heard good things about them. So far they have lived up to their reputation. The clippers easily cut through soft plastic so for scale modelling they tick all the right boxes for me. What I really like is that they seem to be able to cut off small components like control columns and undercarriage legs without snapping or bending them. I also like that the clippers don't tear the plastic like my old pair did, so there are no damaged surfaces that need filling or filing. Whilst not exactly cheap as another reviewer has implied, you get your money's worth. I would recommend these clippers without hesitation.

Great cutters
My original cutters were a bit large for fine parts (plastic kits) so invested in these as the manufacturer was highly recommended within the modelling world. They don't disappoint!Accurate, sturdy ergonomical and easy to handle, these are now my 'go to' cutters regardless if the size part and at a very reasonable price.

Excellent cutters from brand leader
Good set of sprue cutters, nice fine points to get those small parts off the sprue, good spring weighting.

Very good sprue cutter can recommend them
There is nothing that i have found disappointing with these. They cut cleanly and precisely. They are a size that facilitates ready manipulation.
