I use this filter in my two BMW diesel: a 2 liter X3 and 3 liter 5 series. I hire my local mechanic to change the oil (every 5000 miles), in both cars and I supply the oil and filter for the task. If you are not familiar with diesels, you should know the engine oil get black after 5 miles of driving. Therefore, it is difficult to know if a filter is working. Presumably, the filter traps larger soot particles, but who knows. I like the fact that the filter comes with crush washer and housing o-ring. Also, they are cheaper than what BMW sells at its dealers. I always have one in the garage for the next oil change and buy Pennzoil Euro L oil from Walmart. An oil change with parts and labor is well under $60, so I change oil at 5,000-mile increments rather than 10,000 miles as prescribed by BMW.

Have purchased this 5 times now for oil changes on my BMW. Even though it says it doesn’t fit my car; 2014 BMW 328d xdrive, it’s an exact fit. Will continue to use. Comes with new o-ring and brass washer for your drain plug.

BWM approved replacement filter at a fraction of the cost. Filter comes with crush washer and housing o-ring. This filter in combination with Pennzoil Platinum Euro LX Full Synthetic they way to go for the X5d

It fits, it works, and it costs half as much as the dealer's BMW branded filter. Any comments on performance are entirely subjective. Anyone that tells you to change synthetic oil every 5k are probably over 50, and definitely over-spending on oil and filter. I'll definitely order this filter again though.

I've used these filters twice now on my BMW 740ld. No issues installing and removing. The only caveat I would have is that the BMW cartridge-style filters can get jammed in the filter cap. Have a few plastic bags on hand so that you're not getting oil everywhere when you remove the cartridge from the housing or cap.

Worked like a charm. Get it if you got a 535 D
