I have bought a couple of these mostly so I can use up all the tape cartridges I bought over the years NOT knowing the printers would be so unreliable and just randomly stop printing for no reason. It has nothing to do with the computer to which they are attached or the OS. I have (had) two of these running fine under Windows 10 for several years. I'll see how long this one runs before it just dies. The labels they make are very nice for my needs and better then the newer integrated, hand-held units for my needs since I can preview the label on screen. POST MORTUM: 3 more of these have since died!

As of 2018 this printer design is quite old. I have had three of these, all died of a mysterious hardware failure after about 3 years. I got my last one off eBay and had it running OK on Win7, but the drivers were always dicey (even on Win XP) and I have had to fuss with them to get it working. So after three of these I am giving up. The PT-1230 PC is not too pricey and self-installs the drivers all by itself. I like that... now if it will just last longer than these KL-P1000's! All the Casios waste tape, but they make great labels.

Printer is good for making simple labels but the tape are a bit expensive. There is supposed to be one tape provided with the printer but it was missing from the package I received.
