Replaced a broken unit with more functionality
I replaced a remote unit with the light permanently turned on with this one. It installed exactly like the previous unit, and added a dimmer and thermostatic controls. All the features worked as advertised, and I especially like the light delay feature allowing me to turn the light off after I've left the room. I need to buy more of them for the rest of the fans in the house!

Although identical to the old remote, the new remote did not work with the old receiver. After installing the new receiver, the Hampton Bay fan and remote work great. The only exception is that the light dimming feature does not work. The small incandescent lights will only turn off/on. Reasonable price and fast delivery.

Works well but controller doesn't always show what fan is actually doing
I purchased this to replace a similar factory unit in a fan that failed. I like that it can dim the lights and set the fan speed. It has a temperature sensor that can be used to have the fan speed change depending on the temperature. The controller also has a cradle that can be mounted on the wall and still allow for removal of the controller. The controller also 'remembers' its previous setting if the fan is turned off via a wall power switch. One small issue - if you change the settings on the controller when the fan is turned off via a wall switch, the controller shows the setting, not the actual state of the fan. When the wall switch is turned on, the fan doesn't 'catch up' with the controller.Bottom line: Works very well. Minor issue with controller showing the setting even if the fan is turned off, and the fan doesn't match the controller setting if it is turned on with a wall switch.

Works perfect with my Hunter Fan
Works perfect with my Hunter Fan. I purchased this exact remote from Home Depot many years ago and I loved it. Somehow the remote got misplaced. Home Depot no longer carried this remote so I looked on Amazon. This remote was the exact same remote as my original one. I am sure that it will last me for many years. I think that the people who said that the remote does not work properly did not install the transmitter correctly. This is a very good ceiling fan remote control.

Dimming light function failed after 35 days daily use
Dimming function worked great for a little over a month, then it started to flicker and click. We used it daily at night for at least 3 hours. Since it had exceeded the 30 day return policy, we are unable to return for a replacement. Cannot recommend this to product since it appeared to fail quickly.

great buy
i left a review already. so i dont know why they ask for more.. i can only say its a great buy.. very worth the money.. put 4 batteries in and it worked.. no rewiring needed.. quality product based on the look and feel/weight of it.. if you have a Hampton bay fan/light , dont hesitate to buy this remote.{if you had /used no remote before, then you will need to rewire.. }super easy fast to do..

It is debatable as to whether it is the fan or the control.
The top of the line Hampton Bay fan seems to be lacking for me. I put in a new double circle florescent light, could not discern how to replace the upper light and thought a new control would make it work. With the new control, at first the light would come on and the fan would definitely work. By the end of the week the light would no longer work. I expect a good fan to last more than 7 years and was delighted the light lasted that long. The ceiling is 16 feet high in need of intense light and a fan with a long life. It is debatable as to whether it is the fixture or the control. I had to use different locations to make the control work, as it did in the beginning. It still operates the fan. This is the same type of control I had in the beginning and it worked impeccable. I am having to rethink what my next line of action will be. Thoughts and suggestions would be well taken.
