Very clever design. It is a white metal box divided into 3 chambers (wiring/ballast chamber and 2 light chambers). Mounts to standard round junction box in wall or ceiling. I purchased this to replace a decorative wall light that got smashed. This clever light is solid metal and virtually impossible to break. Contents as shown in first photo. Wire connectors NOT included. Great value for the money.Cosmetic: When off, it looks like a plain metal white box which isn't exactly the most elegant light in the world. However, when on, you don't see the box you see a butterfly shaped light which also illuminates the wall. So, it's very strangely pleasing. Note that since it illuminates the wall, any minor imperfections in the wall are going to be visible.Light level/color: About medium. Just bright enough to read a book by if you have a chair under it, but not to illuminate a large room. So it's great for a hallway OR as an auxiliary light if you were going to, say, dim the lights and watch a movie. Light color is cool (instead of warm). I normally prefer warm but since it's a wall light I think the cool makes sense as it will pick up the color of the wall more accurately.Modification: As shown in the photos, it was pretty easy to modify to accept a light cord instead of having an electrician install a new junction box in the wall. The metal is tough, yet still fairly easy to drill. I used a collar from the previous broken light for the cord entry. CAUTION: Keep your family safe - if deviating from the manufacturer's instructions, have your work inspected by a qualified electrician before powering it on. You want to make sure, for example, that wiring gauge is sufficient, that polarity/grounding is correct, and that the cord will not be frayed, any of which could result in dangerous electric shock.

Purchased these as temporary wall sconces after having ugly old wood paneling replaced with drywall. Well, they look fantastic and I will be keeping them. My home is super mid century modern with some very unique & modern decor touches. These are just perfect as they aren’t distracting among my beloved MCM furniture pieces and unique art/decor. They disappear against the white wall during the day and cast nice, subtle indirect light when on. Super easy for my electrician to install and he took note of them for future customers because he loved how they looked. Highly recommend!

I ordered the warm white model which shows a picture of a yellowish more appealing appearance which I prefer. Box arrives stating it is the warm white model on the label. I install the mounts and secure the lights to the mounts. To my suprise when I turn on the lights, the color is cool white not warm white. Installing the lights was a pain because of the small screws to secure the lights and the screw holes are on the side making it difficult to access. I have no intentions of uninstalling them. The cool lights are horrible because they resemble lights in a hospital or office cubicle environment. Ruins the ambience of the bedroom. Quality did not verify the model in the box before shipping. Btw, light bulbs cannot be replaced. One star forbrhe quality team not verifying the correct model was in the box.

2nd update 6-6-2023I ended up buying another one and now use these as sconces in my bedroom. They're both super bright and are just right for reading at night. The first original one is still going strong and the second one I bought is the same style, just bought as a single. I still highly recommend these ~*update*After nearly 2 years of being used as the main light in my living room, the little sconce has conked out... he only flickers and gets to half brightness. I've researched and the bulb can't be replaced. I've moved the light in my office to the living room, as I need it there more and the office gets summer sun, for now. I'm sad it can't be fixed, I really like these lights. I'm moving in 2 months so I'll hold off buying new ones until I see what the new house needs. But I'd definitely buy these again if needed. 6-2022I have a dark area in my rental house, I didn't want anything that has to be permanently installed. I got a pair of these even though I only needed one, the price was that good and it was the right fit... one of the reviews said it was too dim... holy cow, I have no idea what they are talking about, it's super bright. To get a decent picture, I had to dim it down. Otherwise it was just a bright blur lol. Super easy to install, just a matter of hanging it up. I'm going to use the second in the room I'm now teleworking from because I can use the extra light. This might be my favorite purchase this year~ you know, when you're looking for something but can't quite put your finger on it and end up being super happy? Yup, that's this little light! These sconces are very appealing to the eye and do what they say: brightened up any dark room of your apartment or house. The only con I have with these lights is the metal plate in the middle of the light gets pretty hot and makes it hard to touch it when the light is on.

These lights have the option to hardwire or plug in. I am not someone that is an electrician or really wanted to pay for these to be hardwired in. I like the fact that they have the plug into an outlet ability, but along with that there is the cord that cant really be hidden. If you don't mind that the cord is seen, these are a good addition to a room. If you can hard wire them in and don't have any cords hanging, that would be great. My skill set doesn't allow for that, so I have the cord. Overall a good product and pretty easy to install.
