Fantastic Comb For Long-Haired Cats
I use this comb on my senior Persian and it works quite well. He typically gets mats under his ears, armpits & groin areas. These areas are difficult to groom because he won't let me comb them. This comb helps to remove mats when they are just beginning and small. Any mats that are a bit larger I cut in half with a grooming shears, then use the teeth of the comb to gently remove them. Wish I had discovered this tool sooner! This product has made grooming my elderly gentleman much easier and less stressful. Highly recommend.

Total Life Saver
My dog had some pretty severe matting behind his ears and I felt helpless, I wanted to try all these I could before taking him to a groomer. I purchased this along with Cowboy Magic Detangler & Shine; those products paired with patience and praise for my little angel and the unthinkable was done!!!I really like the design of this tool, particularly the little cut out above the handle; it made the brush mush easier to use behind his ears. I also really liked that this product doesn’t cut his fur, the “bristles” on the brush more so easily penetrate the matt and allow for you to break it up rather and save the fur rather than cut it out.GET THESE PRODUCTS NOW!

Helpful Tool for problem coats
While this grooming tool is a very simple design, you really have to know how to use it. The ends of the rake are very sharp and you cannot dig too hard or too deeply if you can't see what you are doing. It is very sturdy, and can can be useful in separating tightly wound mats close to the skin. You MUST start at the top (outer part) of the mat and slowly and gently tease it apart with the rake, combing as you go. DO NOT try to get everything out in one go. Move around from spot to spot as you work.Placing your thumb or fingers of the opposite hand at the base of the hair (on the skin) while "picking" the mat with the rake will keep it from pulling and annoying the cat- who will probably not recognize you are trying to be helpful at any rate. When using the tool gently as a comb, is helpful in locating knots and mats in the undercoat of cats with long hair. Easy to clean and worth the try if you (and your cat) have patience before going the shave-the-coat route at the groomers.

Removes loose hair!
This is a wonderful product. Better than a brush! Should last for years!

Lable misleads that this comb is for dogs only!
This design is purr-fect for cats too! Our JJ is getting older and his arthritis has slowed him down enough that he is not keeping up with his grooming the way he used to. We went away for three months and had a house sitter take over care and maintenance of the place, and when we got back his back end was one large mat. Being a large sensitive type, he did not really tolerate a standard comb and brush well. Searching for inspiration we hit Google hard and tried the oil to the mat strategy with limited success and that resulted in a slightly oily cat for the next week. I ordered de-tangler and waterless shampoo thinking that we would have to figure out a way to loosen them up to try combing them straight. I also saw this comb which was inexpensive, and even though combing did not work well for my sensitive guy, decided after reading the reviews that it seemed to work for cats, and that some of them seemed to tolerate it well.Once it arrived, we had our first session. The design has two rows of metal teeth with relatively wide at around 1/8 inch and arranged in a V shape. With gentle teasing this tool worked miracles by dividing and concurring each mat so that instead of pulling on it with teeth, it looks like 1-3 teeth catch the hair, and there is enough room between them that they each work a portion of the same mat and the comb is able to pull the hair apart, where the tight comb gets too much purchase and pulls the hair from the skin. I also think that the spacing emulates cat toes, and JJ actually loves to get combed with this tool. Doesn't hurt that he got treats after each session, but we were doing that before as well. It took about three goes to the remaining mats all out, but we ended each one instead of JJ insisting on it, and as I say, we had one happy boy.I am going to recommend this to our vet, who had suggested that if we needed her help to shave him we were welcome to bring him in. This took more time than a professional would want to take, which is why the shaving method seems to be used, but in the end JJ has his dignity and most of his coat as we enter a cold and wet Oregon winter season. Five stars to the folks who designed this with Pattern's Language in mind!

prongs really large but good for knots
not the best for getting really into the knots or break through fur without tension pulling on their skin but may be best for very long haired cats. definitely good if tending to any issues. outside cats especially.

Best cat brush I've ever used
I bought this brush to use on my cat with long, thick fur and it's one of the best purchases I've ever made. The design of the bristles makes it easy to get into and brush out any matting with one hand, which lets me hold onto her fur with the other to reduce pulling and pain. Every other brush I've tried she's hated and run from when she sees me pull it out, but this one is so gentle she leans into and purrs even after a few times working out tangles. Would definitely recommend, especially for the price.
