Broke the tether for our gas cap. You can get a replacement tether, but getting the gas cap band that the tether attaches to onto the cap may be more trouble than it's worth. For a few more dollars, you can buy the tether and cap ready to use. There is a good video on YouTube showing how to deal with the plastic retainer on the fuel filler door. Find and watch it. I did find it easier to remove the fuel filler door to remove the anchor for the tether. This cap rotates freely as it should and we have seen no alarms for a gas cap problem. Totally pleased with this gas cap.

Works and fits perfectly.Couple of tips. Watch a video for removing the lanyard stay. Use WD-40 or some sort of cleaner on the filler neck inner rim. Also wipe clean the o-ring on the gas cap. If the dash light doesn't go off right away, shut off the engine, remove the gas cap and start the engine. Turn off the engine, replace the cap and start the engine. It should be off now.Good value and a common issue on Hondas. Clean the o-ring and filler neck once in a while to get more life from your gas cap!

This was the cheapest part on my list of potential problems to get a check engine light to turn off. Didn't work but this gas cap is fine. I didnt put much effort into twisting it but it only clicks once and pops back off easy enough.

Problem solved! Just take the tab out where the initial cord connected that kept it from dropping. It’ll have a tab to open and put new cord into snap back together and re insert!
