Great quality, but variable sizing
Been wearing these things for years - like 20 years - including this brand, which is one of my favorites. I have noticed that the size varies - sometimes it is a bit tight, sometimes right on, and one time it was really loose, but I think that one was meant to go over the tops of the ears, maybe. I have a small head, around 56cm/22in, so if you have a bigger head these might feel tight, but this recent one is one of the looser more comfy ones I have received. I do get a line on my forehead after wearing them, which lasts for about an hour, maybe, tops. I get this with all of them, pretty much, except the real loose ones. The problem of snugness seems to be pretty universal with these nylon skull caps - and I have probably 5 or 6 different brands, at least, that I have tried (many of those offered on Amazon). The Shorty has a terrycloth patch on the band over the forehead, which is quite comfy, and may offer some improved sweat blocking, but to be honest, the ones I have that lack this seem to work fine for me, including on long sweaty runs in heat and humidity. Btw, I use these all the time for all sorts of things - running, biking (under a helmet), marshall arts training, at the gym, and just walking/riding around town with the family. I took one star off, not for quality, but because the sizing varies more then it should - but this is over many years, several purchases, from, probably, various sellers.

Works well under a sun hat.
Works well under a sun hat. I use what I call dew rags at a preference when hiking or bicycling in hot weather. They soak up the moisture and prevent having your hat drip on your glasses and or down your face. The dark colors work the best because they re-evaporate the moisture if you take your head off.

If Offered in Sizes, Would Be an Excellent Product
There is a long history of hat making, also known as millinery. Never has the pinnacle of the craft been to provide one size for all people. Yet that is the product direction this maker continues to follow. This is sometimes referred to as "One Size Fits None."You do not need to read many reviews to see that the larger headed people are the ones most unhappy. My hat size is XXL. The hat was quite painful, as supplied. And smaller headed folks complain, too.To my good fortune, I was able to take an X-Acto knife and cut out the elastic, as suggested by other reviewers. Now I can wear the hat.In an ideal world, this hat maker would provide a range of sizes, providing leadership for the industry. Failing that, a more flexible maker would overtake this maker in the market.Despite my issues, I've given a 3 start review, as the modified hat is useful. Not outstanding or excellent, but adequate.

Best Gear I've Tried This Summer
Wanting to minimize stopping to wipe my face and forehead was the reason for the purchase. I did try some other products before arriving here.I was looking at the cooling head gear as well and would have been my next stop. Had this not worked so well for me.I live and ride in Las Vegas. That being said the summer here is brutal. I sweat allot in the summer. And as I said at the beginning I wanted to minimize my stopping to wipe my face time. I bought the white because of it's reflective quality in direct sun light.I have had this out in 123F this summer and can report that this thing just works. I think it has something to do with the tail. In that moisture tends to pull to the back where it's dried out. I have had sweat in my eyes on several occasions, during longer/hotter rides. But for the most part this has all but eliminated the need to stop.I very rarely give something a 5 star rating. But this thing has earned it.Highly recommend this

Smaller than earlier models
I own two previous similar models of this Super Shorty Beanie and Helmet Liner by Headsweats. While this current model is well made, there are two problems I had with it upon trying it on that caused me to return it. 1. The sizing is smaller in circumference and depth than the ones I previously purchased. Although I know the elastic band in the rear of the beanie will loosen up after repeated wear, this is clearly smaller than previous models. Those with big heads/hat sizes will find the fit now is much different than previous years models. 2. The two models I have by this brand had a terry cloth type material in the front of the beanie/skullcap which helped absorb sweating. This new model does not have it. I'm very disappointed with this new model's design and sizing. I like this brand, but if they all fit like this one did, I'm going to have to look for other brands making the same type of product for wear under a bike helmet, etc. Disappointing.

Another Great Headsweats Product
I've been using Headsweats for 12 years.I first used it when riding my bicycle across the USA in 2000. I had two problems that I was trying to address:- I was getting sunburned through the holes in my bike helmet, and- I was getting tired of having sweat drip into my eyesA web search found the Headsweats folks. I called up the owner in Cincinnati and his product seemed like exactly what I needed. I immediately ordered three of them and had them shipped to me mid-tour. I was absolutely delighted by the performance of these things. Ever since, I've had no problem whatsoever with either of the above issues. The Cool-Max sweatband built into the thing is quite effective in absorbing sweat. While I originally used the "classic" version, I've since upgraded to the "shorty" version. The classic version sort of had an open back with three floppy pieces that were intended to be tied at the back of your head. That felt uncomfortable inside my helmet -- so I never tied them. The problem with the classic version was that when you take the helmet off, the untied floppy things would flop around in the wind -- sometimes flopping over my head and onto my face -- awkward. The shorty version fixes that drawback, while keeping the same high performance of the original.I LOVE my Headsweats!

Bald Head Protection
I'm a bald dude, and was needing to protect my head from the sun and others from glare for a marathon in the sun and heat of Barcelona. My worry was that suncream would end up in my eyes, a cap would leave a burn spot at the back where the strap usually is, or wearing nothing would burn my head. So I saw a few bald folk speak highly of these on forums.I was a bit self conscious at first, as in Glasgow, wearing something like this can come with a lot of stick. But then I remembered it's not a fashion show, and quickly.got over that.I wore it a few times in training and it seemed to do the trick, although I was not dealing with much sweat in the colder weather. The real test was at the marathon. I must say, it did exactly what I had hoped for.The sweat band must do a great job, because I had no sweat in my eyes at all, and still a pale, unburnt head. The best thing I can say is that I forgot I was wearing it, it is that comfortable.Would highly recommend for any bald folk wanting to protect their head from the sun.

Might be tight for some
I enjoyed the product though you are aware of it. It might be tight on people with slightly bigger heads but great item to have. I wear mine when goaltending and have no issues with sweat running into my eyes now.

Beat the sweat.
I purchased two of these a few years ago and still use the same one today. If you sweat a lot (hyperhidrosis) then this is a must have. I wear in on it's own or comfortably under my hard hat when on a job site and even under my ski helmet. They are usually advertised as a bike helmet liner. It really does work. The first time I used it I was on a job in south east Texas. It was over 100 F and almost 100% RH. I don't recall what the humidex was other then it was some crazy number like 160 F. It worked great, for the first hour before it was saturated. It wrings out easy and dried completely over lunch. The main thing it does is keep the sweat out of your eyes and to a certain degree help keep safety goggles from fogging up. The tail on the back is great because that is were the sweat is directed too and it will drip off of that.

Top-Produkt
