DrinkMate 8g CO2 Soda Chargers - 100 pack, silver, standard

These are by far our favorite chargers. Great value! It's SO MUCH CHEAPER than store-bought seltzers. ~50¢ per quart vs $1.39 or so at retail. We make our own tonic so we can control the sugar (we make simple syrup and sweeten in the glass). I follow Dave Arnold's advice to charge the siphon twice and this makes some of the best tonic water ever.

These cartridges are pretty much what you’d expect from the description and generally represent a good value compared to other brands. However… The CO2 charge in these vary wildly. They advertise 8g per cartridge but, after measuring the cartridges in my shipment, actually contain between 7.4 to 8.1 grams, with an average of just over 7.6g. Is it a huge issue? No, not really. They still work, but you may notice the discrepancy as a variation in “fizz” from charge to charge. And, compared to another brand’s 8.5g charge, they may produce a less carbonated liter of soda.

I like to make my own sparkling water using well water and I save money not buying canned sparkling water. I have a Ukegtwist and these work perfect in it!
