Edit: Had the chance to sit on this chair for more than 2 months now. I gotta say, I am getting more and more disappointed. At first it seemed like such a great investment and it WAS really very comfy to sit on, BUT, as you sit on it more, hours after hours day after day, I started noticing lower back pain. It's more of a chair than a lounge chair, you can't just relax in it, you gotta sit up straight and read a book or work, but you have to sit deep and keep your back straight. The moment you relax your back, it starts hurting after a few minutes.For reference, I am 32 and I don't have any serious back problems, but starting to think I might get some from this chair. Looking to sell it now and this time pay more to get a truly comfy chair. Too bad I missed the return window :(Really surprised with the quality and the price. Was expecting something cheap and not so sturdy and comfy. But i love it, i work, read, or just lounge on it. It's very sturdy, nice back support when sitting upright.The color is nice, the material feels firm and strong, soft to the touch. This is for my bedroom, but could work well at an office, as a work chair, etc.Now, it's not plush, you might need to add a pillow to sit on if you can't sit on relatively firmer surfaces. I like it this way don't feel the need for a pillow yet. It's not a plush armchair, it's more like a super mega comfy reading/office chair. It's also not tiny, it's a normal respectable size.The ottoman is the real bonus though, for this price!Totally recommend! Thanks for a great product!

This was a very reasonable purchase. It's more solid than soft but that's OK with me. The stool went together easily with just one person. I needed a helper to assemble the chair. I've needed to add protectors under the legs for my cork floors, but the legs support the chair well. I'm very happy with the fabric color (medium grey) and texture--dense enough that so far my cat has not snagged it even though she's tried.

As other reviewers have mentioned, this chair is pretty stiff, but still comfortable. This is good for me since I bought it as a reading chair and want good posture/back support while I use it. I don't love the material/fabric, but it's not bad, and the grey goes nicely with the color scheme in my bedroom. The cheap materials definitely were off-gassing a slight smelly smell, though I'm sensitive to chemical smells. Assembly was a small pain in the neck, and I'm pretty good at assembling things. Pay attention to the different screw sizes - the bags that they come in are not labeled so I accidentally put the longer screws in the wrong place and had to take them back out. It happened to be in the most difficult part of the chair too, where the back meets the bottom of the chair. Assembly probably would have been easier with a second person to apply pressure to the back of the chair while the other person feeds the screws in through the bottom of the chair to connect the two pieces. You'll know what I'm talking about when you assemble. Other than the unlabeled screws and the slight difficulty getting the two main pieces of the chair to align perfectly while you put the screws in, the instructions were easy enough to follow. No tools are necessary other than the provided allen wrench. Overall, this took me easily under an hour as a 100-lb female to assemble by myself. Overall, I recommend this chair if you're looking for a nice-looking reading/accent chair on a budget! The ottomon is not pictured, as I have it moved to the other side of the dresser when not in use.

This chair was a pain in the neck to put together! I wish we would go back to Phillips screws because everybody in the United States has a screwdriver. It took 45 minutes by myself because of hex bolts which are stupid. Other than that it’s extremely comfortable and works very well as a dining room chairs, as well as a chair to read in. I am ordering another one. However, I will be going to the hardware store and getting regular screws make furniture easy to assemble again!

I am very pleased with this purchase! I bought it specifically for my reading/studying room! I was worried because you can never tell how dark a color will be when it arrives, but this is perfect! It’s a thick, high quality fabric and firm cushion. It took maybe 20 minutes to assemble by myself and everything I needed was included! I took a couple pictures in different rooms to show different light sources to show its true color!

Stylish and attractive looking but no padding

Overall, solid and comfortable. It may be a touch darker than you might expect, but it works well for me as evidenced in the most generic looking living room you could imagine (shown in photo.) This chair and ottoman seem quite nice, especially for this price point. They assembly in 10-15 minutes. (Pro tip: Attach legs to chair base first, then you can stand it upright to fit the back piece on.) The fabric is a darker heathered grey and seems very nice. I hope it stands the test of time!
