What instigates this review was the observation of rust spots on the new (never installed, always in the bucket) 7-in. screws that had remained in the bucket without the cover during a series of rain events.Although we had drained the bucket (mosquito protocol), I grabbed a handful yesterday took note of the red rust spots.I had also noted bent screws (wobbled on their way in).* They went in, they are in, I don't know if there is any impact of their bent condition on their cantilever performance.* The siding load is 4-in. out from the secure nailable/screwable base (I am not considering the sheathing as screwable base).Earlier in the day I needed to countersink some of the installed 7-in. screws and, upon removal, inspection, these exhibited abraded / worn coating / holidays.Originally I had purchased 6-in. screws, though not through Amazon. I installed about 100 and then recognized my arithmetical error.* I then ordered the 7-in. screws, received them, and replaced the 6-in. with 7-in.* Most of the 6-in. screws I removed exhibited silver spots, tips were generally all silver, and the ribs under the head were silver too.* A random handful of the unused 6-in. screws from the red and blue label buckets (not obtained through Amazon) have similar coating holidays.I cannot reconcile coating "holidays" in the new unused 7-in. screw bucket with use in ACQ treated lumber products, nor can I reconcile their use in any wet location given the loss of coating associated with intended use. (The same opinion holds true for the 6-in. screws).Given the dominance of affected screws, I ask myself: “Are the white label buckets of 7-in. screws from the December 1 order are not first quality product from FastenMaster.”* If they are “seconds” it needs to be plainly stated in the description, and* Perhaps the fourth bullet "Guaranteed corrosion resistance for the life of the project; ACQ approved." should be lined out specifically.If they are “1st quality from FastenMaster” then we have an even more interesting problem.

Used on every deck I build

These construction screws make any project fast and simple. They come in lengths that fit any project and load rated so that can take the place of using other more cumbersome methods. Great for outdoor construction projects such as walls, raised containers, fences, etc., but also useful for things such as furniture, swingers, or even a storage building.

What more can I say about big screws, they worked.

I build beds and bunk beds in my shop. These are EXCELENT for assembling the rails and bed platforms to the posts. Very strong, and great holding power.
