Better than Hormel
I ate Hormel since I was a kid but they went way down in quality so I decided to finally try these and it's a huge difference. There are six tamales per can and each one is individually wrapped. There are large orange chunks of congealed orange fat that are super easy to remove and toss. I unwrapped them, removed the fat chunks, laid them in a microwave safe container and heated them for about two and a half minutes. The sauce has some spice but not hot, the tamales are pleasantly plump and intact and the flavor is very nice. The texture of the filling is much more like real meat than Hormel too. Even though they're still canned tamales they were pretty good as is and will be really tasty dressed up with queso, avocado or a dab of sour cream.

Firm, meaty, good flavor - not a diet food
Compared to Nalley, and Hormel, the La Preferida Tamales are a huge step up.The masa texture is firm, the filling is not over extended, good and meaty. The meat does not have that canned ravioli taste/mushy texture you get in Nalley. They are not "wet" like the horribly water laden soupy Hormel tamales.Dry, but still moist with hunks of congealed delicious spiced lard in the can that melt into the velvety sauce. Not a diet food, these are rich and fatty in a good way.Like any canned tamale a little vinegary hot sauce is a good idea, but the La Preferida Tamales were so good I ate them plain.Truthfully these are some of the best food from a can of any kind I've eaten.

Okay
These were okay. Not worth the price, but maybe with hot sauce and sour cream they'd be better.

Very Tasty
They are tasty for a canned tamale. However, for added spice, I sprinkle them with hot sauce during the heating process. This is my third order😚

Yeah, I love these tamales
Spoiler: I love all tamales. Right now I have a case of these canned tamales in my pantry. I also have two kinds of frozen tamales in my freezer. And if I see a vendor on the side of the road I’ll stop there too. So I love these tamales. In a bowl covered with homemade chili, on a plate topped with green chili salsa, cold out of the can. Love em all.

Excellent canned tamales.
I really like this brand of canned tamales. It's not too spicy. Lots of masa flavor and the filing is proportional. One draw back however, a little too much fat in the can for my liking.
