Can i use this device to add an ota signal from an attic antenna to the cable from my catv service and then separate the signal at the rear of my tv?

No. What you are looking for is called a diplexer, and you will need two to accomplish what you are attempting to do.

Do I need to actually plug anything into the input on this? I just want to link multiple moca 2 devices on existing home wiring.

It bothers me that the seller says yes, you can do this, with no explanation.

My initial reaction is that no, this is impossible because the outputs are designed to have high separation from each other.

Going from input —> output, or output—> input, you have a loss of 7db per the specs. But, while the specs do not say what the isolation is between outputs, it’s probably in the area of 40db. In other words, output —> output you lose 40db.

So, you can only make a network using all outputs if you can afford that much signal loss. That is a lot, so it seems unlikely you would get reliable performance.

Question 3

Can I use this outside my house to split my Comcast cable? The current 3 way splitter they are using is not grounded. Do I need to ground this 4 way?

Thank you for the question. You can use the splitter outside, but it's recommended to use it in a house box or premise box to keep from getting water inside. Grounding is recommended, however, the splitter will work without grounding. The purpose is to keep your wires from damage, and potential fire damage in the event of a surge.Keep in mind, your cable system only needs 1 grounding point. So, if you have an established ground before the 3 way that's in place, that's all you need. Can 4 identical tv antennas be hooked up running device backwards as is currently being done with a Monster Cable 1 into 4 splitter?

If you are trying to combine 4 antennas to get signal gain the antennas must be mounted on the same pole pointed in the same direction and you must have exactly the same length of cable from each antenna to the splitter then you still have the loss of the splitter. If you don't the phase difference in the signals will degrade or cancel each other out. Some manufactures supply a phasing harness to combine stacked antennas on the same pole that is the best way to do it.
