It works but…
It works perfectly but like almost every other review I read said they screws were too long and hit the bolt so I sanded them down to make it work

Low profile and direct mounting. Solid!
WIth having a Marlin 45-70 Guide Gun, a solid base is a must. A versatile one is even better. Normally I use iron sights, but now and then I like to either shoot with a red dot sight or a low power scope for testing loads. Finding a base that will allow me to see the iron sights, mount either the dot or scope, and still have options as placement on the weapon was what I was looking for. Found it here with the NcStar base. Multiple ring bolt slots spaced out over the entire base has that option for locating the sight or scope. I use quick release rings and they fit snug and correctly each time a sighting device is mounted on this base. The base is very solid, yet quite low allowing me to see the iron sights without blocking any of them with the base in place on the receiver. Mounting screws are an allen screw and the wrench is included. The mounting holes lined up 100% dead on and the base sits down atop the reciever with no gaps or issues. I saw where one reviewer said it hung over the back of the receiver a bit. Not to sound rude, but they mounted it backwards. In the proper location, it clears the back of the receiver with room to spare. Overall this is a fine base for this rifle design and will suit the needs of hunters, paper punchers, and any other type shooters out there.

Super nice, nice addition to my rifle
I mounted this so I could add a CCO. I like how it’s worked out and have had no issues with it.

Good mount, bad screws.
The mount lined up perfectly to the Marlon 30-30. However, the screws that come with this package are way to long and go into the receiver and run right up into the bolt. Because of this, you cannot cycle rounds at all. The whole gun gets jammed up. Thankfully, I was able to sand down the screws and take off a few threads and now the screws don't hit the bolt and the cycling process is fine now.Mount is 10/10. Screws not so much.

Lever Action Rail - works exactly as described
Simply put, this worked exactly as intended. It fit and locked tight on my Marlin 1895 45-70 and has held up to recoil just fine. For my specific rifle, it does extend about a inch forward of the receiver, over the barrel, but that may be desirable to some people, depending on the optic you are mounting. I have a small red dot on this rail and it works well and hasn't lost zero.It does come with 4 screws and an allen wrench; you shouldn't need any other hardware to mount it on your rifle. For those needing to know specific models it will work, as listed on the box: quality enough, not bad for the money, holes aligned perfectly, screws fit ... not sure why its not listed but here is the list of receivers it fits that was in the box; Marlin 9, 45, 30AS, 30AW, 36, 62, 93, 336, 336C, 375, 444, 1993, 1894 Cowboy, 1895, Glenfield 30, Zane Grey, Camp-9 Carbine, 922M, 989, 22 auto rifle, Mossberg 640, and Western Field 740

Great quality
The quality I expect from NcStar. Only issue was that it didn't come with the mounting screws. I called NcStar and even though they don't sell on Amazon directly they sent what was missing.

... Marlin 1895G 45-70 and so far it seems a great product for the price
I mounted this today on my Marlin 1895G 45-70 and so far it seems a great product for the price. I'm rating this four stars because the screws strip out easily and the holes aren't perfectly lined up. That being said, my rifle only required four mounting screws and this rail came with six, which allowed me to replace the striped screw. Also, even with the holes on the rail not being perfect I was able to easily mount the rail without any modifications by alternating which screw I tightened, like you would changing a tire, 1st screw, to 4th, to 2nd, to 3rd, until they are all evenly snug. I didn't have any problem with screw length pertruding into the receiver. If I have any issues I'll update this post.

Slightly Frustrated
The mount itself looked great and I felt a good buy......but then I tried to mount it on my Marlin 336. After removing the "Dummy Screws" from the top of the receiver, I carefully installed the scope mount. Great fit and looked super...but then I noticed that the lever action was not smooth and felt bound up. The mounting screws for the mount were too long and were protruding just enough to compromise the bolt travel when jacking the lever. What to do???? I thought.....maybe I could send it back or shim it enough to raise the screws clear of the bolt. I don't like to shim stuff so I decided not to do that... So, I placed a nut on the screw and used my grinder to grind from alittle over .029 thousandth of an inch to just over 28 thousandth. And, by having the nut on the screw, when the nut was removed it cleaned up any burrs that existed. Everything fit great and my bolt is as slick as a vaseline testing facility. I am happy now but should not have had to worry and do adjustments at all. Start making the screws alittle shorter...I am sure the workers in China will not object...
