Downtime

One of my favorites! This is the only Peter Blegvad album I know, but from what I've read of reviews of his other work, I would put this mid-way on the continuum between stripped-down acoustic and heavily produced experimental. In other words:perfect. Beautiful, moving songs, and often funny, too. The production and arrangements are scruffy and imaginative -- each song has it's own sound, and many sound like nothing else. Most are acoustic guitar-based, often with chorused or reverby electric guitar layered on. The drumming is of special note -- unpredictable, sometimes crazed, full of personality. Anyone who likes great lyrics and quirky production will probably love this. I like it in the same way I like atmospheric bossa nova guy Arto Lindsay, but Blegvad is funnier and warmer.

Este disco, tercero en la discografía en solitario de Peter Blegvad, y grabado entre 1986-89, es una obra cargada de lirismo y bellas composiciones, muy acústico y melódico, rítmico también por momentos y que no defraudará a nadie, cosa que no es difícil de comprender tratándose de un músico y compositor miembro fundador de una banda como Slapp Happy formada en los años 70's y fusionada en su momento con el grupo quizás mas definitivo y sobresaliente de esta escena experimental y vanguardista como es Henry Cow, creadores de lo que se ha venido a denominar como RIO ( Rock in Opposition ) . En el se encuentran "compañeros de viaje" como Chris Cutler, John Greaves ( Kew Rhone ), Andy Ward, Jakko Jakszyk, etc, que dan a esta obra el "caché" suficiente para que sea imprescindible en cualquier discografía para amantes de este género. Muy recomendable

鳴り音は慎ましいが丁寧に作られている。三作目にして漸く自然体になった感有り。名作とされる次作より好みだ。
