Secret Six continues to be a solid book
This trade of Secret Six deals with them fighting Slavers as well as having a tie in to Battle for The Cowl. The BFTC tie in really doesn't amount to anything and I can see why it wasn't collected in the main trade paperback for it but I liked the interactions that Bane briefly had with Nightwing and how he and Catman dealt with it.But the main meat of the story-line has the Secret Six continue to do rogue antihero stuff like fighting a group of Slavers that somehow have captured Amazon women. (Causing a very brief but cool appearance by Wonder Woman) Also the Slavers are led by someone who I could easily buy as being Magneto that somehow crossed into the DC Universe. While I like him, I liked Junior better as a villain. The story still continues to be strong and most of the members of the team are compelling (except for Siren who is somehow immortal I think) but I would be lying if I said that I wasn't a little disappointed by this book. Probably because even though I don't have any issues with the Battle for The Cowl tie in, it just wasn't as fun as the rest of the book.

Great Time For Comics
This is possibly my favorite ongoing series right now. This one continues one blowing away any settled notion you thought you had. As always, whenever you get comfortable with a belief, the team is sure to smash it. This one has some great comedy with a hilarious super deformed dream sequence from Ragdoll and plenty of classic one liners, but it doesn't stay on the light side. We also deal with some serious themes as the team has to make tough decisions on just how far they'll go and live with themselves. We get to see new sides to everyone, a more in depth telling of Banshee and her abilities, a major roll by Wonder Woman, and even an appearance by Nightwing as the team becomes the first to recognize him as the new cape and cowl. As always, another incredible volume as these just keep building to become better and better.

Five Stars
The Secret Six always end up working for most despicable villians and I wouldn't have it any other way.

Three and half stars!!! This comic just gets better!!!
After reading this trade, I wandered if it was really published by same guys who do great crossovers and mostly teen oriented comics.Story is better and more original than in previous Secret Six issues, art is crisp and superheroic/mainstream templates and repetitions are at minimum. If you wanna read great commercial book that has story, art, fun, meaningful story and potential to get near Claremont's X-men remake, this is title for you!!!(NOT four stars because it would mean a must get...and this is still a spandex book )

Any story with Ragdoll being creepy is a good story
Gail Simone gives readers another collection of dark, challenging, and hilarious stories about complex villains trying to get through their daily adventures. This volume begins with a couple of single-issue stories to flesh out the personalities of the main characters: in the first, three of the Secret Six members go on a double date (well, with a fourth member secretly stowing away for comedy), and in the second, the other three members try to take down some kidnappers who are trying to run free in a Gotham without a Batman. These stories made me interested in Jeannette's character for the first time, and they gave Ragdoll plenty of opportunities to reference off-screen sexual deviance, which never stops being funny (and unsettling).Next, Simone sends her characters on a mission to a tropical location of some kind, full of prisoners/slaves, and she gets a lot of mileage out of the ethical issues that affect each of the characters (she also gets a lot of mileage out of Ragdoll's fascination with wearing various pieces of Wonder Woman's costume, which made me laugh out loud). I think the "Depths" storyline will probably be more powerful to a reader who is familiar with Wonder Woman and the Amazons, but I am not such a reader, and I still caught the broad intentions of the story. This is certainly a dark collection of stories, with physical and emotional cruelty abounding, but no more so than earlier collections of Secret Six, so a reader who has enjoyed earlier volumes should definitely read this one.

Good stuff.
Not the best of the series, but if you've read the other "installements", I'm sure you've purchased this already. If you haven't read the others, well, what are you waiting for? Get'em all!
