Great mixer!!!
I read hundreds of reviews on this before purchasing it. Some people didnโt like the controls, but I didnโt find an issue with them. I liked that you turn it off to the right, as that is the natural way your thumb would move as a right handed person. I didnโt find the speed control up/down buttons to be difficult, either; I found it extremely convenient, but do agree it is easier to operate with shorter finger nails. The low speed is very low, and I LOVE that it always starts on low. I made a pound cake where I add in 1/2 cup of cake flour and an egg every two minutes. This was extremely convenient because each time I stopped to add more ingredients, the mixer started on low and nothing blew all over the counters. It was easy to then move back tospeed 4 to mix things. With regard to the beaters, there is a diagram where you insert the beaters that shows you that the larger one (with a washer-type piece) goes in the right one. The pieces without the washer-type piece (the other beater and the whisk) are designed to fit in either hole. If you read the instruction manual or follow the diagram, I donโt see where you would have an issue, unless you receive a defective mixer in which case, send it back. The power of this mixer can be deceiving because of its quiet operation. If you associate speed with the noise you hear with most mixers, you will likely be disappointed. If you enjoy the quiet operation and watch the mixer do itโs job, you will likely LOVE it as I do.

Great All-Around Mixer!
This is a mighty mixer. Have used it for mashed potatoes, batters of all kinds, cookie doughs, whipping, beating. Powerful motor and love it has adjustable 7 speeds. Beater bars are easy to clean and work better than the traditional blade type. Accessories attach easily and quickly. This is very handy to use for smaller jobs without pulling out a stand mixer. This will do it all, but use your stand mixer for handling thick and heavy doughs. This is for your smaller jobs that you need to use quickly and easily. A well-equipped kitchen needs a stand and hand mixer, and this is a great mixer to compliment your stand mixer in the kitchen. And it being a Kitchen-Aid

Quiet mixer with 7 speeds--slow to fast for all your mixing needs!
One of the mixing blades on my decades old hand mixer broke and no replacement blade was available. So I watched and read a lot of mixer reviews. After trying and returning a cheap hand mixer that was too loud and did not have a suitable slow speed, I discovered this KitchenAid 7 Speed Hand Mixer. I compared this to the 9 speed KitchenAid and its reviews made me feel that it would better meet my needs once I discovered that I could purchase compatible bread dough hooks made by Univen (KHM2DH). I store my KitchenAid 7 Speed Hand Mixer in a soft side lunch bag (with a three sided zipper which had held my old mixer).I have now used all of the attachments: whisk, beaters, and bread hooks and all work well. When you power on the mixer, it starts at the lowest speed. It is easy to use the up & down arrows to raise or lower the speed. I thought I would miss having a single lever to change the speed, but I have adjusted well to this set-up.I use the highest speed for beating eggs with the whisk--especially when I make waffles. I am currently experimenting with making different gluten free recipes (a new development for me).The waffles in the photo were made with oat flour and cooked at the same time on two different waffle makers which explains why the waffles look different from each other. I used the whisk attachment to beat the egg whites on high speed. Next I used the same whisk to mix the rest of the dry and wet ingredients (to make the batter) on the low and second speed. I detached the whisk and used it to fold the egg whites into the batter to complete the prep.I have used the regular beaters for gluten-free oatmeal cookies, and the bread hooks for a gluten-free dough. This mixer is so much quieter than my old Black & Decker mixer, as well as the cheap Hamilton Beach mixer I returned. All of the attachments have been easy to clean. The openings are different for the attachments, so it is easy to figure out which piece goes in which opening. Although this mixer cost more than I initially thought I would spend, I am very happy with my purchase and the range of speeds is just right! My ears are happy, too, with this quieter mixer!

A great hand mixer
A very good mixer, quiet, love the seven speed settings but have a hard time pressing the button to reject the wire whips with my arthritic thumbs.

Powerful, well balanced, lightweight, easy to clean.
I decided on this Kitchenaid hand mixer after my other one (Cuisinart) died. I selected the seven speed model as being most useful for my needs. I couldnโt wait to try it out on my favorite recipe "Frozen Brandy Pie" which requires whipped egg yolks, and whipped cream, etc. This KitchenAid mixer did not seem to be as fast as my other one but I kept goingโฆ.wow! It whipped both these ingredients in half the time it took before. To make homemade butter; take 1 cup heavy cream (at 65 degrees /important), Speed #7 about 3 minutes. Cleaning is too easy. Run beaters in container of soapy water til clean, rinse, pop out of mixer base, air dry in rack. The manual does not give a wattage power rating so how can you compare? Being retired and having nothing else to do but play with and research new gadgets, I went to the website and learned wattage is not the best indicator of power. This mixer runs on a DC motor instead of an AC motor which is completely different. Website states DC motors are; 20% more powerful, quieter, lighter weight, lower wattage, energy efficient, and uses only enough power to mix the product at whatever speed you select. I love the slow start feature, it totally eliminates those pesky wall washing projects. I waited about two years to give my review so I could test it out under many conditions. I use it almost daily, and I love โค๏ธ it, I would give it 10 stars โญ๏ธ if I could. My KitchenAid K5SS stand mixer always available if needed for big bread baking days.

Kitchen Aide Hand Mixer
My wife loves it. Surprisingly light weight. 7-speed but no Turbo boost. Controls are conveniently located for one-hand operation. Aesthetically pleasing - described as "contour silver"; however, not a silver (as in chrome or nickel) but a pleasing satin gray. Caution to those who are casual cooks/bakers - make sure you match the correct beaters to their assigned holes in the head (the beaters and holes are registered).
