Worked great for A1407 Thunderbolt Display
I have a mid-2011 Thunderbolt display and wanted to mount on a monitor arm. This VESA adapter worked perfectly, is made of machined aluminum and came with all the right screws and tools to get the job done. They even included a special bent piece of plastic to properly unlock the stand so you can reveal the attachment screws to remove the stand and attach the mount.Read their instructions because for my mounting setup, there was about a 3/8" gap between the mounting block and the plate, so it seemed like things didn't fit properly but this is by design. Just don't overtighten the two bigger mounting screws, otherwise you'll bend the aluminum bracket. The gap didn't seem to be an issue and the monitor is securely mounted now.

Exactly what you need to arm-mount your Apple Display
A few years ago I bought some USB-powered Video meeting LED lights from HumanCentric. The controller failed and HumanCentric quickly acknowledged the known issue and quickly mailed me an updated controller. I still use the lights to this day!For this reason I did not hesitate to buy another product from them. Their mount is well-built and comes with everything you need to arm-mount your old Apple Display, even the card tool to remove your factory stand! Took me less than 10 minutes! I am very happy and would not hesitate to buy any product they offered expecting it to be well designed, well made, well packaged, clear instructions, and people of integrity standing behind it. Thank you HumanCentric. Perfect!

Good mount, bad Apple hinge design!
So this product is great. Used was just fine. Straight forward if the monitor stand releases right. What stinks is Apple's garbage hinge design. It is very easy to release the monitor stand hinge and have it retract inside the monitor. The hinge release is a critical part of being able to utilize this without getting confused.I really wish it included a tool to pull the stupid hinge back up if something goes wrong. Or at least a troubleshooting section. I have seen a lot of posts about it. Fortunately it's easy enough to bootleg things back. Hopefully this review helps someone. Two approaches. Take it to Apple if you aren't skilled. The alternative is to use some form of wire or fishing string. Cat5 works great. Thread it through the holes, wrap around a screw driver or pliers, press the lock patch again, and then pull up. Don't forget to release the lock first when it's up. After that, this mount is great. 10 minutes to install, 2.5 hours messing with Apples stupid stand hinge.

Exactly what you're looking for
HumanCentric did a great job in writing the description for the product as well as giving you a general sense that although this isn't crazy difficult, there may be some bumps in the road during installation. After ordering they sent out an email describing everything in a little more detail, along with offering to help walk through it once everything was received. All the necessary tools are included in the package so all you need is a little bit of time to get everything installed. The instructions were very clear and easy to follow. Actual installation wasn't all that difficult as I was prepared for a real mess. The absolute most difficult and most important part is to MAKE SURE THE STAND IS LOCKED INTO PLACE once you use the included card to access the screws. After I took out a few screws the stand started to slip back into the iMac but luckily I was able to get it to release and lock again.TL;DR - Great product. Easy instructions and preparation. Once installed everything works perfectly and looks awesome mounted on the wall swing arm.

Quality mount, but instructions missing one important detail
The mount works as advertised, and seems very sturdy and solidly built. However, the instructions failed me on one obvious (perhaps), but very important step. After you remove the stand from your monitor/computer, the mounting bracket should be exposed. It isn't clear from the instructions that this should be the case, and for me the mounting bracket retreated back into the monitor after I removed the stand. So after rereading the instructions, looking around inside the monitor with a flashlight, and otherwise thinking I had missed something very obvious, I came back to Amazon to check what I bought, thinking that I bought the wrong thing. I then read more reviews for the mount and discovered that what happened in my case is pretty common. If this happens to you, you're going to have to get creative to expose the mount. What I ended up doing was taking a length of guitar string and threading it through the screw holes on the mounting bracket, then pulling (while simultaneously pushing in the tab with the provided plastic card). I eventually got it to lock in place so I could install the flange, but it was a HUGE pain.Had the instructions made more explicit the need to make sure the mounting bracket remains locked and exposed before you remove the stand, it would've saved me a lot of time and frustration. And given that this is pretty common, it would also be helpful if they included guidance on what to do if your mounting bracket doesn't stay exposed.

Supplied bolts too short, otherwise solid
UPDATE: HumanCentric contacted me, and gave me a full refund. Extremely good customer service, and I have changed this review from 3 to 5 stars as a consequence. I just hope that they start supplying longer bolts to future customers.ORIGINAL REVIEW:As other have written, the main bolts that connect the bracket to the monitor mount are too short. On my monitor, they weren't even long enough for the threads to catch. The supplied bolts are m6-100, 15 mm in length. I ended up buying and using m6-100 25mm length bolts, which worked very well. 20mm length might work on monitors with greater curvature on the back than mine.Once you get adequate bolts, this mount is quite solid and as easy to install as anything can be on Apple gear. Definitely a good value for the cost. It's crazy to me that the manufacturer does not supply decent length bolts (or bolts of multiple lengths), as mine problem seems to be quite common. Were it not for that issue, this would be a 5 star review.
