Is there an alternative refill I can use as I like using gel refills. Just not sure what would fit in here?

I cannot recommend these enough instead of the regular refills: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00P1PJ352/ref=cfb_at_prodpg If the point is too fine, then pick any refill that would fit in the Pilot G2 or Frixion, as they all fit perfectly in the pen and give a smoother writing experience.

I'm afraid we can't. We would have to put the blue refills in at the factory. However, you can buy blue refills on Amazon. Just search for 'Schmidt 888 refill' and you will see a variety of tip size and colour options.

Can you use schneider topball regils with this pen

You can use the Schneider refills, sorry not sure what Topball is though.
