I used these to re-mount a towel rack where the drywall holes were totaled. They were perfect for this application but while drilling into them, I noticed the material was more of a cardboard/wood composite mixture. They stained well.

Simple answer. While not an actual "Wood" block. it does have uses. This stuff is more along the lines of particleboard or hardboard / clipboard material. Highly compress wood mulch, sawdust, and glue etc etc. has a so so veneer on one side. My edges were all clean, was packed well, 1 piece's veneer was cut sloppy but did not stop me from using it for what i needed as it would not be seen. With that said. Do not use this outside or around water. Not building rated. Good for crafts, simple toys and odd jobs around the house. Will buy again!

Just what I needed to use as the base for a decorative object. I painted the block.
