A good addition to the Primal Soup Family with some drawbacks
I've been eating the original True Primal soup for a couple years now...When the chicken came out I thought I would give it a try. It's certainly more expensive than comparable organic chicken soups but I haven't found another that uses "pasture raised chicken." Which if this claim is 100% true which i believe that it is,that's really important to me. The one thing that it doesn't state is whether the chicken bone broth is from those same pasture raised chickens? It does say grass fed beef gelatin as well. I don't love the taste or hate it, i'm just good with it...i would like to see less sodium, maye something around 250-400mg. 1030mg is high! Other than that, as long as the price doesn't jump out of control I will continue to enjoy.

Awesome Natural Soup With Generous Portions of Chicken
I initially tried the True Primal Roasted Chicken Soup and liked it so much that I decided to buy this one too. They are both great but different and I find that I actually prefer the taste and texture of this one. It has a smoother consistency and a milder taste overall. It's near impossible to find a good prepared soup that isn't loaded with undesirable ingredients like yeast extract, canola or soybean oil, hydrolyzed vegetable protein, or "natural" flavorings. The closest I've come so far has been Dr. MacDougall's soups, but even those have some filler ingredients. The True Primal soup is the most truly natural soup I could find. And while we are used to getting short-changed with meat (especially in natural or organic soups), know that there is a generous amount of chicken in each bag of this soup. It is pressed chicken though and not shredded chicken parts, but once you get used to the texture it is fine. As far as vegetables go, there is not too many chunky ones, it is more pureed. There are a few potatoes but not that many. The flavor is on the mild side, and can be doctored up if you want some more zing. Sodium content is rather high per package (1030 mg) but it does not seem salty while eating it and I experience no after-effects like excessive thirst. Maybe because I don't consume a lot of salt otherwise. But if you do, just be careful. I eat the whole package at once but the company says that some people divide it into 2 servings. That makes sense if the soup is an appetizer or side dish, but not if you are eating it as a meal. For comparison, the sodium content of the Roasted Chicken Soup is 1150 mg, so no wonder this one tastes a bit milder. Also as with most soups without preservatives, the vegetables are soft and mushy. I would prefer them less mushy, but have gotten used to this texture in the True Primal soups. Also, the broth is thin and liquidy and I would prefer a thicker soup, but then you'd have to call it a stew I suppose. So I would rate this 4.5 stars overall. This soup has some room for improvement, but it is nonetheless at the top of it's class as far as being filling, natural, and healthy. I will admit that at $54 per 8 packages ($6.75 per package) it is a bit pricey if you eat the whole package at once, but if you break it up into 2 servings, it is a bargain for such a healthy soup. I am definitely going to be ordering this again and have it on Subscribe and Save.

NOT VERY GOOD, AND EXPENSIVE ......
Didn't like the flavor and the vegetables were minuscule and almost non existent. Needed to add flavorings to make it seem editable. Seemed very expensive for an inferior product, that I will never buy again. I do hope that there are other products this company sells that are of good quality and taste, but as I said, very expensive for an inferior product, in my opinion ..........

Buy the beef one instead
I tried the beef one last year and it was good, just not filling. I was hopeful when I saw the potatoes in this one which I wish the beef had. Sadly this one did not taste very good to me. The ingredients sound perfect and it smells good but they taste was off putting.

Its ok. Beef & Veg is miles better
The veggies here are mushy. Not sure what they are doing vs the beef & veg. I have tried heating it the same and less, still mushy. Beef out of a bag that is microwaved has a better consistency than chicken apparently as well.

Watery soup
Why ship with high liquid content? Ideal: those military LRP ration. Add water + heat. Reduce size, weight, and retain freshness in airtight sealed package. Also easier to shop, and to store. Kind of blah flavor. Last time ordering. We all need options over last year for easy meals, this isn't one of those. But it could have been.

We really like the taste of this healthy soup. It’s an easy meal for me and my kids. We’ve enjoyed all the true primal soups and this new one is great too!

It's OK-ish
I could not decide if this portion was for on or two servings. I also objected that it came in a big plastic pouch. We are trying to save or clean the ocean from the deadly amount of plastic. The taste was also just fair.
