Simple directions w large easy to understand graphics
I was very pleasantly surprised. There is an envelope on the back cover w large heavy paper patterns fo most of not all projects so they can be easily reused. The graphics were bold and easy to understand as were the directions. Our 7 yr old sat right down to study it and was very excited to try some of the projects shown. The projects are also simple and great for first timeSewing machine users plus are items a child will use snd can be proud of. Each project could easily be complete within a hour or two which is also nice and won’t lead to frustration yet it teaches kids how to think ahead on sewing projects yo understand adding layers when adding embellishments, etc… very happy with it! Thanks

Excellent and Fun Sewing Guide
I purchased this for my granddaughter who is just learning to sew. Since I can't be there with her to teach her all the basics of sewing, this book has been a help to guide her through the process. It has excellent and beautiful color photos and directions that are easy to understand. Especially nice is that it is spiral bound and easy to lay flat while following directions. It has lots of fun projects and the patterns are even included in a special packet in the back of the book. This far exceeded my expectations and would happily order it for any new beginner to sewing. Highly recommend!

Good book, lots of good ideas for projects for newbies of all ages.
I bought this for a gift. I've never seen this book until I ordered it but I've read the previous book Sewing School and it was good so I was hoping this was also good since it is part of a present where I gave the two as a gift to a niece who likes to sew. This was as good as the first with lots of good ideas for projects that are simple to make on a sewing machine for newbies of any age. What I really like about this book is that it does have a lot of girly things, but there are lot of things for boys too. Usually sewing books are geared towards girls only and have only girly foofoo projects in them. I would like to get this book for myself or my children to use.I recommend pairing this together with the first Sewing School and owning them as a set! These are books aimed at kids, but they are great for newbies of all ages in my opinion!

Good for beginners
I bought this for a 7-year old who wants to learn to sew. It’s appropriate for her age, colorful, and well laid out. It has good info on supplies needed to begin sewing and also includes patterns for each project. I really like that I don’t have to go find them online and print them out!! It also covers the basics on setting up a sewing machine, like threading, bobbins, etc. Some of the projects don’t interest her, but there are enough that do to make it worth the cost. I’ll update this review after we use the book for awhile.

Great Book For A Sewing Machine Beginner
I bought this book for my daughter after she had received her first sewing machine. We had purchased Sewing School (book 1) and she absolutely loved the projects that it included and wanted more to do that were more specific to the sewing machine (the first book also has hand sewn projects). This book is phenomenal when it comes to explaining the steps involved in a project and clearly articulates what needs to be done in each step. In the back of the book you will find pattern pieces which makes theses projects possible. The best part of this book is that it's spiral bound so it lays flat while your child is using it and that nearly all of the projects appealed to my daughter.

Go-To Book for Beginning Seamstresses
This book is the sequel to Sewing School: 21 Sewing Projects Kids Will Love to Make. The projects in the original book ignited my daughter's interest in sewing. After reading the positive reviews of Sewing School 2, the book seemed like the next obvious step in our sewing journey. However, the projects in the second volume were not as inspired as those in the first book. The real strength of Sewing School 2 is the clarity of machine instruction. Each aspect of using a sewing machine is clearly explained and accompanied by a photo. I especially appreciated the suggestions given by the book about what things to consider when purchasing a machine for a child to use. We ended up purchasing the Janome 10-Stitch Portable Compact Sewing Machine (fuschia and yellow!). I have no doubt that we will continue to refer to the book in the future. However, we will likely be reviewing the "sewing machine instruction" pages rather than the creative projects.

The perfect introduction to machine sewing
I ordered this book for my 10 year old who has just bought himself a mini sewing machine. It really is a fantastic introduction to machine sewing. I'm a total non-sewer, but have been learning in order to to support my son with his hobby, and I will definitely be working on some of the little projects in this book. There's a wallet at the back where all the patterns are stored. And they're proper patterns - no photocopying - just cut out and use. There's plenty of space for other patterns too.The spiral binding means that the book can be laid flat with ease, leaving one less thing for new sewers to be frustrated about. The projects are all useful accessories or toys, such as a drawstring bag, iPad case, sewing machine cover, hanging pocket storage. The best thing about this book is that all the images and finished projects are made by children. It's not a book entirely created by adults and merely aimed at children. The projects aren't polished or perfect - they are made by children who look very proud of their work. It's really helpful to have realistic images in such a book, because it can be so disheartening for a child to see that their finished project isn't like the one in the book.Highly recommended. My son can't wait to get started

Great for beginners
I bought this for my 10yr old for Xmas, as she was having a sewing machine off her grandparents. The instructions are easy to follow and she has already made 2 sleepy bears. The look on her face when she finished them was priceless. She couldn't believe she'd made them all by herself. She did panic that they weren't perfect, but the photos in the book weren't either. Would definitely recommend thus book.
