Good Quality, local small business ❤️
1. product is nice, dense and 90% natural fiber filling (natural cotton) I bought the color in Tan 80x 30. Came in a big box vacuum packed plastic bag. cover is a somewhat water resistant polyester fabic. with a huge zipper of your needed to wash this but keep in mind the inside is loose filling. I plan on always using a cover with this so wouldn't need to wash it much really. it's firm to soft, not memory foam (which is good cuz I don't like memory foam) I use this on our couch to sleep on when I or husband are sick lol it's also pretty good on the wood floor too. We live the firmness and thickness.2. So,fyi Fed-Ex isn't great- they were late and required a signature, I was home, they didn't knock or ring bell, just put business not open, I'm not a Business. I left a note on my door for the next day to leave the package and I was waiting and tracking them. so be aware that it's FedEx with the issue, not the company. They send it FedEx because they're a small business and ppl claim their product was stolen and get a refund, some true some not sadly. so seller needs to get a signature now to prevent losing $$. Again, a small local business. I was annoyed by FedEx so when I tried to get the package FedEx said I had to contact the 3rd party seller, Amazon said the same which is usually an issue. Honestly, I called this business and the guys was so nice and apologized so many times but explained their plight. So, I felt for the guy and understood so, Small businesses are tough. Good little company tho! product is great. I wanted something that was legit- no offense but sometimes overseas China stuff is NOT certified or at all according to their descriptions and if it's large- there's NO returning and their sometimes really difficult to contact. This is a local business here in Cali. 90%Organic materials which had to follow US standards. Product is real whole cotton stuffing which I wanted. Came the next day and delivered (per note). So, if you're having shipping issues, 9/10 times it's FedEx that is the issue, just an fyi. D&D were fast, helpful and local.

My 2 years with this shikibuton
I have had this shikibuton for almost 3 years. In that time there is no signs of use, there are no damages, even after hanging it outside and beating it with a broom stick biweekly.Anyone who says that the material does not last, clearly doesn't know how to care for their shikibuton. There also is no smell to it. The people who are complaining about the smell are on crack or something. I sniffed this thing as thought I were trying to snort crack or like a dog sniffs booty holes... never did I smell anything, and my scent is so sensitive that I can smell things the average person can't. I sleep great every night and never have had any complaints. So far I have tested 3 other shikibuton that have better ratings than this one here on Amazon, but so far, none have been as comfy as this one has, and I have returned all of them. I never sleep right on a shikibuton. I always have a blanket laid out on top of it.As an athlete of 10 years, and one who was dumb in his teenage years and hurt his lower back, since sleeping on this for the past 3 years all my back pain has been gone. I have a bit of a broad shoulder length and still can comfortably sleep on my side without a pillow. I can comfortably sleep in any position. I sleep on my back, stomach, and both sides without any problems.I'm one of those who spends 2-3 weeks on Amazon looking for the right product so I won't have to return it. I spent 3 weeks on this one and to this day, I would pay $200 for this one if I had to buy a second one, but I'm pretty sure this one will last me at least 5 more years... or until I get a girlfriend and would have to get a bigger one... hopefully within these next 2 years 🥺Other shikibuton I've tested have foam and polyester inners, this one is cotton. I would not recommend foam or polyester inners because half way through your sleep, you'll be much closer to the ground than you would with cotton. The cotton also stays thicccc and fluffy all night long. If you're on the heavier side, perhaps a 4 inch would be best for you, or if you're just coming from an Americanized overly thicccccc mattress. The only downside or upside (depending how you view this) is after hanging it outside, you'll notice it is thinner towards the center and thicker on the edges because the cotton shifts a bit. It is not very much of a difference though, and after a few nights, everything from the edges will shift back to it's natural position and the thickness will be all evened out.

Great bed!
After a mold incident in our box springs, I vowed to never sleep on a regular bed filled with mold again! Then, I started reading about how awful soft memory foam is for posture--something I struggle with constantly, despite being in good shape otherwise! Long story and a lot of research later, I purchased 3 of these for my family's new sleeping solution. My husband and I put ours side by side, just like a king bed. My daughter (3 1/2) sleeps SOUNDLY on her pink one. We are on night #5 tonight and I can honestly say, I'm looking forward to rolling out my bed and sleeping on the floor! After the first night, I was a little sore but I think I'm used to it now. Comfy, cozy, beautifully made with nice fabric and attention to detail. My only complaint is that they have a bit of an odd smell....I can't really describe it. I aired them out upon arrival for 2 days in the sunshine. The smell is still there, but faint enough to not bother me and I am SUPER sensitive to smells. If you are looking for a minimal bed setup, a healthy alternative to soft mattresses, or a mold free way to sleep that can literally be taken out in the sunshine, GO FOR IT! I love them so much I'm already planning to buy one for a friend who is about to move across many states to make it easier for her. I also love that they are affordable enough to replace every couple years if need be. A great option all around!
