Beautiful set. Razor sharp and ready to use. I wish the box was a bit more substantial but it’ll do.

The box was unfinished and had two broken sides. The chisels themselves? Incredible: functional and beautiful works of art. I took the damaged box as a challenge to prove I was worthy these fine chisels. Some wood glue and clamps solved the crushed sides, and once I applied some stain and varnish, the entire set is amazing.As others had noted, take a close look at the chisels as they may have been abused in shipping. In my case, only the box suffered and was easily repaired. All in all though, this is a fine set of tools.

For the price of these I would expect quality tools. Unfortunately the Damascus pattern is simply painted on. Literally the same pattern that is in the picture was on two of the chisels I received.

I am a bit concerned this company does not offer these tools. I did some deep research after receiving the order and realize the metal pattern is a water-dipped print.I'm sure these chisels would work for a beginner or hobbyist. However, if you are looking for an authentic Japanese chisel, you're going to need to pay for the real thing.

Not even sure these are kakuri brand. Cheap western chisel set. Non laminated soft steel, no ura, and "damascus" is etched water mark.

I don’t like at allI used on walnut wood and every time that I was using it coming out small pieces from the edge
