Great Unit When You Have Realistic Expectations
Apparently many of the complainers on here think that a 7 amp vacuum should be as powerful as a 10+ amp shop vac... uh, no. This unit effectively has the suction power of a good 'home' vacuum, a sturdy metal can, and wet/dry capability. Personally I love the stretch hoses for ease of storage (I've had them on prior vacuums, too). The accessories are all first rate, and personally I prefer the smaller 'home'-size hose because it's much more flexible and let's me easily use the attachments from regular vacuums. I've had no issues with any such 'seal' between the head unit and the can - no, it doesn't have a gasket, but it creates what we call a "vacuum" that keeps it sealed. No, it's not an industrial vacuum, but that's not what they're selling or promoting. It would work fine for basic dust collection of small wood working tools, but is probably not sufficient as a head unit for a whole shop setup (which, again, it wasn't designed for).Always be on the look out for bad reviews that come from whiny people complaining the product doesn't perform the way THEY wanted it to (and especially in a way it wasn't designed for). A product that performs as-designed is not a bad product! And this is one of the good ones.

Bought two for 1,000 Sq. ft. shop
So, I've had two of these Stanley wall mount vacs for six months now. I have a 1000 square foot shop with a media blast cabinet. One vac is used for the media cabinet, and that area of the shop, the second is at the other end of the shop by the main roll up door. The 18' hose allows me to cover almost the entire shop without lifting it off the mount, and in the areas it won't stretch to, I lift it off the bracket to get more length. You will see a wall mount round piece I made for holding the hose when not in use. This is a piece that really should be included with the vac, as nothing is provided to keep the 18' hose off the floor. I cut a piece of 2-1/4" O.D. PVC pipe the thickness of the hose, and used a hole saw to cut out a round piece of 1/4" plywood, drilled a hole in the center, painted it, and secured it to the wall with a lag bolt, works great! It does a satisfactory job with the dust from the media cabinet, and I have used both aluminum oxide and glass bead with it. I clean the filter as needed, and it works well. I was looking at more expensive wall mount vacs with 30' hoses, but realized I could buy two of these for less than one of the 30' foot hose units, and I wouldn't be having to drag a 30' hose around and deal with hanging it. The hose is very flexible, and comes with good tools. Has plenty of suction too! I recommend it.Just a followup edit to my earlier review. For those wanting the best in dust control and suction, use the disposable paper bag, especially if used with a media blast cabinet. The washable blue filter is fine for bigger particles like sawdust and automotive carpets. etc.9/24/2022 Another follow-up. Still have both in use and like them. For very dusty use (like a media cabinet) use both the paper bag and the mesh filter together, it works better than bag or mesh filter alone. I updated to 5 stars because it has proved itself and deserves 5 stars.

Stanley Wet Dry Vac
This vacuum is Exactly what I wanted. For the past 30 years I have used a wall mount shop vac in my house. Now, all of a sudden they quit making them. A friend gave me a stand up vac but it was too hard for me to maneuver. Then I spotted this little jewel ! I was scared to get my hopes up because I have one space in my tiny house that I had kept my others? So, I took a gamble and am thrilled. It is the perfect size and hangs on the wall out of the way. It has a long , flexible hose which is so easy to work with and store. I can never figure why anyone would want to push a heavy vac around when you can just drag around a lightweight hose and then pop the nozzle off to do your baseboards and under the fridge where a lot of my dog hair likes to hide. It is just like having a central house vac. It is extremely easy to empty and of course you do not have to use a bag unless you want to. It comes with some really nice attachments and a storage case which I hung on the wall too. Suction is great as I can move from rugs to hardwood floors to getting up the wood mess around my wood stove. This little vac is absolutely perfect for my whole house cleaning and of course in the summer I can carry it outdoors to clean my car. I am actually planning to purchase another one for a spare just in case they decide to quit manufacturing the perfect vac.

Nice little vacuum, but the wall hanging version has issues
This product comes either for wall mounting or stand-alone. This wall mounted unit was quite a bit more expensive when I purchased it and the only difference seems to be the addition of a wall mount bracket. There are two problems:1) They should have also added a hose support and maybe a place to hang the hose as well. As the picture shows, the hose is soft and hangs straight down. This makes a tight angle for the waste to travel and likely will cause premature hose failure.2) The power switch is at the back where the wall mount is. If you mount this high on a wall, it's going to be tough to reach the switch. I added a remote switch at the plug. The hose also has a proprietary threaded connector and is a bit smaller than standard, which makes it challenging to connect to third-party hoses and connectors for shop use.Otherwise, I'm happy with this vacuum. It is compact, stylish, not too loud and performs as well as can be expected for a product of this size and price.
