SkydropSDSEM81.0 (8) Station Expansion Module

Absolutely works as advertised. Very easy addition to the Skydrop system. Instructions are very simple, and it just works - no fuss. I'm recommending Skydrop to friends & family.

This is a great product. They have some work to do on the software. It does not always calculate watering times properly based on rain fall. It is supposed to adjust time and duration but it seems to only do on or off. Also the display on the software is inconsistent with what it actually does.Overall a good product and would recommend.

Makes for a cheap and easy expansion for my Skydrop controller. Works great!

I installed this product along with the expansion module. On first startup it couldn't find any zones. I manually added them and the first nine zones worked fine, but not the last three zones. I then removed the controller to troubleshoot using just the common and hot wiring, all zones worked. Once I put the controller back, it would no longer power up. I happen to live 15 minutes from the manufacturer, so after getting through to their support folks they replaced the expansion module. After installing the new expansion module the controller had power again, but it still would not detect any zones, and now it wouldn't even control them if I manually set them up. After many e-mails back and forth with support they asked that I again return the expansion module. I asked if we could possibly replace the controller and the expansion, which they finally did. Once that was installed all 12 zones were detected, and appeared to work just fine. After two weeks we noticed our yard becoming increasingly dry. The sprinklers run at night, and looking at the logs it appeared to be watering nightly. I decided to check to make sure though and that night I was in for a big surprise, every few sections would show on the controller as watering, however they were not on at all, some zones would say they were watering, but other zones were watering instead. I attempted to manually run some zones, I had almost no luck. I reset the entire system, and attempted to start over. It found 15 zones now (I only have 12), and now when I would tell it to run one zone, it may or may not be actually running that zone. I called support again and even though the web page says they are available from 9am - 9pm, I couldn't get in touch with anyone. I left a voicemail message and have never received a call back (it's now been a few weeks). I finally gave up and replaced it with my 20 year old Rainbird controller, I returned the Skydrop to Amazon for a full refund. Good news, my yard is no longer dry, the Rainbird works great.

This was really easy to set up. 1.5 hours total and most of that was getting the old system down and labeled correctly so I put it back together correctly. Interface could be a little more user friendly but not a big minus.

Expansion does what its supposed to, but overall the product does not work as its supposed to. Says it going to water and doesn't and have lots of plants die in the arizona heat. I was an early adopter of the product and have dealt with it because of the total overall investment was high. Now they want a monthly subscription fee to use the devices most basic features and I have to draw a line there. I will be definitely tearing this system out now. Its clear to me that this company is in trouble and its just going to be a matter of time until it flat out doesn't work because they kill their cloud. Best thing that can happen is for someone to buy them out but I'm not sure they have made good enough business decisions for that to happen. I would have written this on the main product but can bot because amazon wants verified purchases to write reviews because of all the negative reviews that stem from the monthly fees.

Absolutely the BEST. Can control my watering from my Iphone. Have had it for 2 years and expanded it this year for a new zone. Would buy it again!
