Not her best, but still fun.
Having read the other two books in the series, I felt obligated to finish the trio. But like the other two books in this series, I feel like I got dropped into the middle of a story and taken to the end, without much exposition or understanding of who these characters are. However, the steamy scenes are extremely well done, some of Shalvis' best! The heroine is out of a nasty divorce and temping in a resort town, but living on her ex husband's boat despite being horribly sea sick. The hero is the classic Shalvis Alpha Male, but in the name of expediency, she seems to skip the part of the story where he gets in touch with his feelings and goes straight to being open to a major relationship, despite just returning from a painful tour of duty.I don't think this is typical Shalvis writing - her Animal Magnetism and Lucky Harbor books have wonderful character development and fun plots. This series feels rushed and unfinished, like she could have written three more books to make sense of the great setting she created and the giant family and community she gave herself to work with, but the story seems to have gotten out of her grasp.I'm hoping the next series is better.

Wow! Love love hot sexy Jacob!
Wow! I've fallen in love with Jacob! Jill Shalvis has done a wonderful job with this one! Her imagery & descriptions made this story so lifelike! I was drawn into the story from the beginning and couldn't put it down. This book is part of the Cedar Ridge series but can be easily read as a standalone. Reading the entire series gives you more detail on the backstory & characters but that knowledge enriches the story. It doesn't leave you lost without it.Jacob is one of the Kincaid twins. His is his brother & they were extremely tight up until Jacob leaves after he graduates high school. He didn't feel like he belonged. Hud & Jacob had a fight before Jacob left & they haven't talked since. His feels like Jacob abandoned him & their mother. His doesn't realize Jacob stayed in touch with his mother & has even visited her. Jacob is on leave from the service after the death of a man he considered a second brother. He wants to make amends with his family & decide whether he can come back for good or not.Sophie is a recently divorced young woman who mistakes Jacob for Lake Patrol when she first meets him. She is living on the sailboat she won in the divorce settlement from her ex. She seems to be a real klutz .I love the Cedar Ridge series but LOVE LOVE LOVE Jacob & Sophie. She's trying so hard not to trust anyone but herself & stay aloof. I can just see the expression on her face when she sees Jacob. Total mastery of emotions by Jill! Only problem I have is, it's so long before another one!

Jacob Kinkaid is home on leave from Afghanistan after losing his best friend. While trying to cope with his loss
In Nobody But You, Jacob Kinkaid is home on leave from Afghanistan after losing his best friend. While trying to cope with his loss, he is also trying to cope with the fact that he left years before after an intense argument with his twin brother Hud and without saying goodbye to his family. He has come back to Cedar Ridge to try to make amends and find some inner peace.Jacob is staying in a secluded cabin by the lake when he finds a boat moored to his dock. Sophie Marren has entered his life whether he likes it or not. Sophie is trying to get over a recent divorce and the only thing she takes away from the divorce is her ex husbands beloved boat. Jacob is instantly attracted to her spunky attitude, but feels he must focus on his own life. Sophie is at loose ends in both her love life and her career. As Jacob copes with the loss of his friend, his mother who suffers from dementia, and his siblings who are trying desperately to make him realize how much they've missed him and want him back in the family, will he also allow himself to be loved by Sophie who is also trying to get her own life back in order? She is afraid to love again, but is drawn to Jacob in ways she never thought possible. This book is both heartwarming and humorous as only Jill can write. Will Jacob and Sophie end up an item, and will Jacob be able to repair his familly relationships? I'm sure You'll love the book as much as I did!

Finally Jake's Story
Okay first of all, let me get the negatives for this book out of the way now. The major negative for me is that this is Book 3 of 3 in the Cedar Ridge series. And that means the end of the series. You are just getting into another wonderful series by the highly talented Jill Shalvis and it ends. There are still siblings I would love to meet and get their stories but the series ends. But the positive is that Jill Shalvis is always writing so this means there is another series that will be on the way to help you over come your sadness at the end of the Cedar Ridge series.'Nobody But You' is Jake Kincaid’s story. Jake and his twin, Hudson, had a falling out when they were eighteen and have not spoken since the fight. It is kind of hard to speak when you have disappeared from the life of not only your twin brother but the rest of your slightly dysfunctional but loving family. We come to find Jake had ended up joining the military. He has proudly been serving in the military but has finally realized it is time to come home. A mission ended badly and although Jake is okay, he needs time to deal with the death of a good friend and the mission. So he comes home to mend fences with his twin and heal.Sophie Marren is trying to remake her life and start over again. Starting over includes getting over her seasickness while living on the boat she has gotten from her ex-husband as her part of the divorce settlement. One of her issues is finding a docking spot for the boat where she doesn’t have to pay for overnight docking. When Sophie docks the boat at the pier of the house that Jake has rented while he is hiding from his siblings in Cedar Ridge, sparks start to fly.Neither Jake nor Sophie are perfect but well rounded out characters who are flawed like all humans. And this is huge part of what makes the story fun to read. Jill Shalvis always writes real characters who are flawed human beings. And that is why her books are such great reads.

Fabulous Romantic Read
The last part of the Cedar Ridge Trilogy follows Jacob, the brother who has been away for a decade returning to the family and meeting Sophie a newly divorcee who is seeking a new life. The twists and turn of their romance along with the fear of letting themselves be loved makes for a great read. Great trilogy and loved all the Kincaid brothers. Another 5 star read

How I judge a good book - it made me cry!
I loved this book, and the one before and the one before that! The Kincaids are a tough nut family, that you'll definitely get engrossed in and fall in love with each and every one of them. Jacobs story, back from service on leave, to a family he doesn't think he deserves having left the way he did, the story takes you through his rediscovery of- normal life, people, family and love, (sound boring, heck no, not even nearly) the bumps along the way and........nope that's it you've got to read this book, couldn't put it down, laughed and cried at the antics - enjoy

Couldn't wait for it to arrive and once it did I was not disappointed. Absolutely loved it, Funny, tongue in cheek, hot, real issues. A truly winning combination. Thanks for making me happy. Cannot wait for the next series. Just wish they were a bit longer. Off to read it again.....
