After many years I've settled on a small assortment for different uses and sounds. It's all subjective and there are no rules. I like this particular brand and thickness because it works for me, my technique, and my setup. Here is what I have discovered and why I buy a new batch every so often. They wear...slowly....but after a time the tip will blunt. I have busted them too after many uses. But I really like the feel and sound. They are not brittle or delicate by any means but are kind of 'organic' (I know that sounds ridiculous) and eventually wear down after extended use. I really like them and maybe you will too.
