Small LOG Cabin Incense Burner 2.5"x3.5" Comes with 10 Balsam Fir Logs Paine's

Charming Little Cabin! I was excited to find this little cabin that reminded me of my daughter's and my favorite place in the world-Our cabin in the woods. I bought it and the 72 refill pack of Balsam Fir incense and was even more thrilled when it arrived! My whole family, including my Mom, not only loves the cabin with the little smoking chimney, but also finds the sweet, balsam smoke incredibly enjoyable and perfect for Christmas time and Winter! I have had no trouble lighting them with a lighter or my gas stove (make sure the whole ring glows red without gaps) and not a single one has stopped burning before it was completely done. I have no trouble putting the lit incense into the cabin and we've burned 4 to 5 a day since it arrived we all love it so much. It does NOT smell of cigarettes or Marijuana in the slightest! It smells like sweet Balsam Fir in the fireplace. Absolutely fantastic and so homey and cheerful! I think the trouble might be is that some might be used to the smell of fresh needles or the oil in candles-which I adore too, but that's not whst this is. This is sweet Balsam Fir, but is the wood smell from burning, not like a wreath on the door. I think both versions have a beautiful aroma personally.

My mom bought me one of these for christmas and thought it was the coolest thing ever considering I was born and raised in Maine. I had to buy 2 for some friends. Itsvery unique and smells amazing right out of the box. The only down side of this little cutie is it's hard to keep the incense burning. But when you get it going it looks so cool with the chimney smoke. Love it.

Technically, "I love it!", but it needed a modification. Start with the good: This thing is absolutely freaking adorable. It's just the right size for incense cones and blocks, and when in action it is just the cutest and coolest little thing ever. No wonder these things used to be so popular. And it's cheap! The bad: Those balsam fir logs smell nasty. They smell like weed, is what they smell like. I barely had the first one lit before I had to put it out. They're going in the trash. Fresh, they smell like luscious balsam fir trees. A picture of christmas. All that beauty is destroyed once they're lit. I recommend getting an oil/wax warmer and warming balsam fir oil if you want that smell instead. That's what I'm doing, and it smells wonderful in here. But I also love burning indian temple incense Song of India India Temple Incense - Cones - 5 Boxes(25/bx) , Rosicrucian temple incense India Moss Rose Incense , or nag champa cones Shrinivas Sugandhalaya Satya Sai Baba Nag Champa Incense Dhoop Cones, 144 Cones , all of which have a wonderful incense-y aroma when burnt that lingers and makes your home smell sanctified. In order to burn blocks and cones, however, I had to pull off one of the walls (it's just hot glued at the base, and pry off the balsam fir log holder. The holder is about a half inch high and is too high to safely burn anything other than the supplied logs inside it. That they use a wooden holder also seems a little bit reckless, but I guess they must not have had any problems with it up until this point. In place of the wooden log holder, I glued a small fireproof tile, which also lowered the height of the burning incense so that it wasn't so close to the roof. And now it's perfect!

The cabin itself is very nice, not very large and more of a small decorative piece. They include several rods of incense, and there is a small metal hole to fit it into while burning. The rods, however, are just a bit too thick to fit into the holder, so they fall over. I took a sharp knife and with the smallest of scraping around one end, it fit snuggly into the holder and was ready to light. Once lit, it was difficult to get the incense burning, so be patient. You want this to have a flame, which will recede, after which the orange glow of the incense will produce smoke. Then put the roof on. The smell of the incense is powerful, however it very much smells like your fireplace has backed up. My wife from upstairs asked "Is something on fire?" Which isn't very Christmasy or cozy. I do enjoy a good fire in the fireplace, however I don't enjoy the smell of fireplace from incense, and would prefer these have a more piney smell than just burning a log. Also a good tip - if you want to extinguish the incense, just turn the rod upside and insert the burning end into the metal holder part. It will put itself out. I'll get some different scented incense for sure, as these appear to just be wood, as they say it is. And as such, it smells like burning wood in your house...not like the perfumed smells most of us are used to from candles and usual incense. I find this very reasonably priced for a cute incense holder.

I grew up in the Northeast and had one of these as a kid. Now that I’m 38 and living in the Southwest I thought I’d get it again for nostalgia sake. The cabin is smaller than I expected but I didn’t realize there were sizes to choose from. It smells the same as I remember and is just so cute and cozy. Can’t wait to light it during Christmas time. It’s a little tricky to light and takes some patience. But it’s worth it.

I burned some balsam fir sticks in the campfire when I was out camping way up north on the lake. The scent of a woodsy dry incense came over to me on a breeze from the smoke. It was wonderful. I bought the Paine's Incense cabin here to have that scent whenever I want. I admit, when I was a kid and smelling these Paine's sticks back then, they did not appeal to me and just smellt like rough burning wood. But since haveing maybe thousands of campfires since then, and enjoying various burning wood scents like oak and pine and cedar, I appreciate the wood fire smells . i like the little log cabin, its neat how the smoke drafts into the door and up and out the chimney. The sticks don't burn for that long, but long enough for an incense scent to fill the room for a while. One key with this incense is to really get it lit. You dont just light it and then think its good, you have to really get a nice coal on top, or it might burn for a whle and then go out, but if you light it good then again, it will burn fully, and if you start it off with a good tip burning then it will go all the way from there too. Now I just have to get some refills, because I have already burned through half of these 10 sticks in the few days I have had this.

Small and cute but hole inside the cabin sucks. Logs don't stay in. I bought a 50 pack of logs in getting tomorrow. That has a holder i can use. Think it'll fit inside cabin.
