Toriko, Vol. 2: Coco!

Toriko Vol 2 continues with our characters Toriko as he and Komatsu are on a quest to take part in a new spawn of delicious, exotic, and highly dangerous seafood that lurks in the bottom of a extremely dangerous cave. Unlike the previous volume Toriko and Komatsu experienced numerous journeys, this volumes is more focused on just this one event. We are introduced to another king of the food hunters world, CoCo who has a secret method of his own, as well as a mysterious retired food hunter who has skills that put Toriko to shame almost. This volume is a great ride and suspenseful. It kept me on the edge as I read it and the character interaction between Toriko, CoCo, and Komatsu was pretty enjoyable and hilarious. I have to commend the artist for the facial expressions that were enjoyable to look at, hilarious at times as well.Like all of Viz's and Shonen Jump releases, it has easy to understand dialogue and read in the traditional format. There are not any bonuses in this volume but it spans many chapters. The art is good quality and the book is as well. For new comers to Toriko you can start with this volume as it does a great job at introducing new people to the series too.

Honestly toriko is one of the most underrated manga out there and I've started recent collecting the manga after finishing the series. All I can say is that it's worth every penny collecting the series

The story gets better at every chapter!

If you dismissed volume one for being a bit light, the second volume of Toriko should satisfy for something more meaty. Mitsutoshi Shimabukuro adds layers of story to the series; we meet Coco, another famous gourmet hunter (and hence the name of the second volume) and we go on a fun adventure. Recommended.
