Can this be used to cut stencils? Would it get too hot for stencils?

YES, you can cut out stencils!!! I do it all the time with just a regular woodburning tool! I use the TINY point attachment. I even cut out a stencil out of TRACING paper. And it turned out AMAZING.

Is this all i need to start carving into a wooden walnut canvis?

This is NOT any of the necessary items to start carving wood.This is sufficient to get started with pyrography / wood burning into wood. Do keep in mind that it lacks any sort of temperature adjustment for pyrography. As a first timer kit or for simple projects (bold dark lettering outlines etc) it is acceptable.

Do the number tips fit on this pen?

The tips have to be able to screw in. Any tip that you use needs to be made of good material or the tip will become loose and not heat up right. Even the tips that come with this burner become loose after it gets really hot. You really need to be careful not to put any pressure on the tip while using it since that will really make them loose. If you take care it does work really pretty good for small jobs.

Can you use this on leather?

It heats up evenly and thoroughly so you should definitely be able to use this on leather, being careful to use light touches and differing nibs for effect.

This tools works very will for wood burning. I really like that it heats up fast and has an in-line on/off switch. Comes with some nibs so that you can work right away. No complaints at all....

Delusa...

È arrivato tardi. La presa non va bene in Europa. È quello che va bene solo negli Stati Uniti. Lo stesso giorno che ho fatto l'ordine, ho chiesto di cancellare l'ordina. Mi hanno risposto il giorno o due giorni dopo dicendo che era già spedita. Non vi posso spiegare quanto mi sento deluso da questa esperienza. GUARDA COM'È ARRIVATA IL PACCO! In una busta. Il confezione già aperta da tempo; Si vede dal colore della cartone e colla. Pezzi piccoli liberi nella busta. Non ho ancora provato il prodotto perchè devo trovare un trasformatore giusto. In genere i prodotti di Walnut Hallow sono buoni. Pero devono aggiungere più informazione e foto, per dare più dettagli sul prodotto. Uffa.

If you're an artist, no practice needed.

Five minutes out of the package and I was burning images onto wood as practice for a wooden picture frame I planned. Although I fancy myself an artist, I've never done wood burning before. This is fun! Great results right out of the box. (My wooden mixing spoons in the kitchen may be in jeopardy.) Having said this, the wood burner looks innocuous enough, but is something to approach with extreme caution. It comes with a metal stand, pictured here. But even the stand will get hot. The package recommends using a pair of pliers for changing out the various tips, and I couldn't agree more. The tool heats up quickly and seems to cool down quickly as well. And it has a snap button for turning it on and off so that you don't have to unplug it all the time. But I'm going to keep the pliers next to it as a habit. I'm also using a remnant of granite to stand the tool and the metal holder on. I'll probably plan a bigger project for this new gadget. Good price. Good deal.
