Slim white downlight
The media could not be loaded. The Luceco LED Eco Circular Luxpanel came well packaged with the panel, led driver and a template for the cutout. The downlight panel is connected to the led driver by push connector with a twist locking function, which means should the dowlight fail you can unplug it from the dtiver and change it without changing the mains wiring. A bit if a gimmic but would allow you to change the panel without turning of the mains. When wiring up the light for the first time you still need to turn of the mains and connect the mains end of the led driver to the switched mains. If you were replacing an old bulb then the mains section of the led driver would connect to the same wires as the bulb. The hardest part of the whole process was cutting out the hole for the driver, made slightly easier by having cardboard template included in the package. The beauty of this device is that the led panel is slimline and in my case was slightly thinner than the plasterboard I was fitting it to. This would help if you were placing it in the position of an old ceiling rose, as it is likely that a rafter would be in the ceiling void to hold the rose in place, and as the led panel is thinner than the plasterboard it would fit without interfering with the raster. The led panel is held in place by two spring loaded wire sections which fit tightly against the plasterboard. The panel is easily removed by applying a little force to pull it down against the force of the springs. In my case it used it to light up a hot press which now houses the gas boiler and is used as a store. Very pleased with the level of light given off.As to the lifetime of the panel time will tell, but led lights are more reliable than old bulbs, and it comes with a three year warranty against defects which should cover any unusual early failures. In summary, a slim white downlight that looks well, is easy to install, and gives off a good light.

Needs some wiring
This 170 mm Eco Slimline LED downlight from Luceco is a neat light which would fit in with most decors and it does provide a good amount of light from its 12-watt LED bulb. The bulb “colour temp” is 3000K warm white. The required “driver” is included in the box.As is common in a lot of fittings of this type the bulb is not replaceable and in the event of a failure the whole unit would need to be replaced. However, this should not be an issue due to the longevity of LEDs of this type and also a 3-year warranty from the manufacturers.I am puzzled about the description stating that the unit is “NO WIRING WITH THE SIMPLE ‘PLUG-AND-PLAY’” The unit does just plug into the driver but the driver needs to be wired into the mains. The simplicity of that job depends. If the light is to be situated as a replacement where a suitable connection point already exists then installation would be a doddle. If, however the light was being installed in a new place then wiring would be required to that place. Concealed wiring in that case would vary from job to job.The unit needs a hole of 160mm in diameter with a void behind to enable it to sit flush to the surface. Care needs to be taken to ensure that this hole is not accidently too big as there is very little leeway. The outside diameter of the fitting is 170 mm so there is less than 5 mm all around the circumference as leeway. The fitting is supplied with a 160 mm template but if this is lost a geometry compass may work.I think the fitting would be useful in places like porches, larders and cloakrooms where a single light would suffice and be especially useful in limited headroom spaces where dangling lights may not be appropriate. As multiple light fittings would be required in rooms such as lounges etc I do not think this type of fitting would be suitable. However, on a white ceiling this Luceco light fitting could blend in with the background as to be virtually unnoticeable and 4 or more may have quite an interesting effect.

Good light, very slim & very easy to wire
Pros: Ease of fitting, slim depth, low power use @ 9 WattsCons: None that I can see.Recommended : YesNice led light, with a matte finish to the outer edge, which mostly disappears against an emulsioned white ceiling, especially when the light is on, gives off a warm white, but it's verging on a daylight white, this could be a positive or a negative, depending on what you're looking for. There's a diffused plastic cover over the leds, so you can't see them as such, just the mass of light given off.One thing I especially liked about this was just how easy to fit/wire it. There's a template included for the actual whole size that needs cut, OK, whatever you're cutting into might make this harder, but a basic cut with the trusty Stanley & the hole from the old spotlight I was replacing was now big enough for this new panel. On the wiring side, very easy, the light comes as the panel with a bit of cable attached, a little twist plug on the end of this, the other part is the driver unit with a little twist socket at one end & flying leads on the other (to be connected to the mains. This means you can get the weight of the actual light off the cable you're trying to wire to the mains, it's not heavy, but having to hold it while wiring, it'd be in the way, so wire the driver then with a little twist, the light is connected, so simple, now you can switch the mains back on..... You remembered to put it off right??After that, pop it into the ceiling (it's held in place with those springs either side that all these recessed lights use) & enjoy not bumping into things in the dark. It's cheaper to run than your old style filament bulbs & should last a lot longer., from memory, leds give 8 times the light of old bulbs, so this should be equivalent to a 72W bulb. Apparently it gives off 650 lumens, I'll take their word for that, also the CRI is marked as greater than 80, not too clued up on that, but I believe it means how accurately it'll allow you to see the colour of things it casts light on, 100 being the maximum & I'd say that what I'm seeing is fairly accurate, so again I'd say the light is leaning towards a daylight-warm white.
