After a few months of use, I have to say this is an excellent bug zapper. I had a pretty bad fly problem going into the summer, and this has made a noticeable difference. I used to rely on sticky traps, but they’re messy, unpleasant to deal with, and honestly pretty gross. This is a much cleaner and easier solution. This looks nicer than the lantern style zappers you'll find at the hardware store. There are a couple of things to be aware of. Occasionally, a bug gets stuck between the electrified posts for too long, which can cause a burnt smell. The light is also very bright. That’s great for attracting flying insects, but I wouldn’t recommend placing it in a bedroom or anywhere you’re trying to sleep. My biggest complaint is the collection tray. It isn’t quite large enough to catch everything. When the bugs get zapped, they can sometimes be blown in different directions, so I usually find a few dead bugs in a small area around the zapper. It’s a minor inconvenience, especially considering how well the unit works. Other than that, it has been running for a few hours a day for several months without a single problem. Just clean it out regularly and it should continue working well. I think this is a great value. It even came with two extra bulbs, which I haven’t needed yet. If you’re dealing with flies or other flying insects, I would definitely recommend giving this zapper a try.

I’ve had it hanging in my garage for a few full days and nights. While there are a ton of flies, gnats, and moths flying around in my garage, there are ZERO insects in the tray below the zapper. So I’m not sure if I received a dud or if this thing is just not effective AT ALL.

This is probably the BEST purchase I have ever made with Amazon! I live on an acre of land. I have chickens, guineas, dogs and an assortment of uninvited varmints. This seems to be the most fly infested year we've had. This zapper unit ts nothing but FABULOUS!! I can't believe how many flies it kills in a day! It is well worth the purchase price!

This is in my garage, which is open from sunrise to Sunset for my dogs entertainment-in the southern Delta. Controls mosquitoes and flies, important because my three dogs are frequently in and out of a doggie door leading to my kitchen. Comes with two replacement bulbs Which are very easy to install. One has been going since the first day and the other had to be replaced because of operator error. This runs 24 seven in my garage. It is very loud when it zaps, While doing some renovation, the flies got into the kitchen, so I moved it indoors. Loud enough to startle. But the flies were cleared out within a matter of hours. The only reason I had to change one bulb is because I forgot to unplug it when I was cleaning the grill with a tiny paint brush and got a bit of a zap. Be warned, not enough to turn it off, unplug it To clean the GRILL . Tho can Just turn it off to empty the collection tray on the bottom Of the unit, slides easily in and out, is made of quality plastic that is very easy to wipe clean

Works Great as Bug Zapper But came with one section not working Light bulbs wok great in top unit and one unit is bright enough. Reason for poor review neither company nor Amazon had good customer service… could not talk to anyone and email to manufacture had no reply using it as is needed it now!

Great for zapping flies, gnats, and moths. Zapper isn't too loud. Best position for me was in my kitchen by the sliding door. Not giving 5 stars because when placing on flat surface it easily falls over. Great if you hang it with the chain that come with it. Included cleaning brush is useless.

I have one of these in the UK and I bought it to kill flies! Not so good with flies! The unit I have in Spain was zapping away and killed all manner of bugs! Especially Mosquitos. Put it in any room in the dark before bedtime and the bugs be gone. It makes a loud noise when it zaps, but you soon get used to it. You know each zaps means one less bite. Would Highly recommend
