This Stuff is Great
I admit I am a kayak abuser. I drag mine on concrete launch ramps quite a bit. The first shot if after three year of wear. I use my kayak A LOT! I also recommend pairing it with JB Plastic Bonder to fill in major scratches and I suggest building a little ramp from the kayak base to the top of the thick Gator Patch or sanding down the "sharp" edge). For extreme bends I cut it to allow fold over instead of a big wrinkle. Also I believe in Aerospace 303 for your kayak. My kayak is 11 years old.Yea, it's not cheap. If they're were a better value alternative I would take it. I am thrilled there is such a product. I have a basement so I can put it on inside and then take out in the sun. I can see that it would be a problem if you had to do it all outside. I have a relatively expensive kayak. If I had a Walmart special I wanted to protect I would say it is too expensive. Again, I think this stuff is great for my needs..

UPDATED REVIEW...GOOD NEWS...Did not adhere to kayak keel
I contacted the manufacturer and they immediately sent me a replacement unit and I installed it and it works! Their National Sales Manager communicated with me and I was very happy with the follow up!!!I followed the excellent instructions and viewed the online video and the material did not adhere to the keel. I am a fixer and tinkerer and I’m familiar with epoxies, etc. I had my doubts about this product and was so hopeful that it would adhere and protect my keel but it was not to be.

It is not worth the money
This product is not worth any amount of money. Following the directions exactly, then leaving the product in the Florida sun for several hours, I was shocked to see absolutely no adhesion.I wrote the company to see if there was some type of cement/glue they could recommend to adhere to both the fiberglass patch and my kayak so the experience would not be a total financial loss. They never had the decency to answer me.I feel this is a scam and not worth your money!

APPLY PATCH AT NIGHT.
One thing i haven't seen anyone mention in how FAST this thing will start to cure under direct sunlight. Seconds, literal seconds outside and the uncured, unpeeled patch became noticeably stiffer than it was fresh out of the package. Beware of reflected sunlight, even if you're in the shade this thing will begin to cure right away. If you're working by daylight, it's enough to begin the cure and make it harder to mold over the contours of your boat.Otherwise, it's great. Soft and easy to cut before the cure and tough enough to handle some abuse after.

East to use and dries hard as a rock
Used this now two times on two different kayaks. Used it for keel protection. Easy to install and has worked very well on the most wear prone areas on my kayak keel. If it wasn’t so expensive I would cover the whole keel with it!

Very impressed!
For a radius corner you will need to cut the ridges and smooth it out with a seam roller. After it cures sand it smooth.

Doesn't do as advertised
Save your money! Doesn't go around corners like they say and doesn't sand well at all.

Works as advertised
We used this product on the keel of sons kayak, absolutely amazing. Follow the directions and you can't go wrong. It is a little pricey in my opinion although cheaper than a new boat.

Worked so well
I’ve used my plastic kayak twice since patching; no leaks. I bought this patch after my hull filled with water and I searched for solutions online. Plastic welding seemed most people’s go to but I knew that was beyond me. This patch cost more but not as much as a new kayak. I guess that’s why they can charge so much for what seems like it couldn’t cost much to manufacture. I found a crack in a scupper hole and easily patched inside and out. I’ll use the rest to strengthen the keel. Once open, the package needs to be used within six months.
