👏 EXCELLENT!! 👏 QUALITY!! 👏
Also did I mention... EXCELLENT QUALITY. I for real don't write reviews like ever, so when I endorse something, I MEAN it. I am a 22 year old man and am writing this via my mom's Amazon account through which I bought this and as soon as I started using this walkman, I felt extremely compelled to write this company/product a shining review.🏆 Just opened this guy up and after putting in 2 AA batteries, tested with an old Elvis cassette tape from 1973 and the SOUND is fantastic. 🔊 It came remarkably quickly and arrived in a little cardboard box; inside the walkman was seated in a little foam tray with the earbuds and instructions lying flat beneath. I felt very comfortable that it wouldn't have been damaged in transit. 📦 The BUTTONS are solid and don't rattle and have a weight to them that feels durable and WELL-MADE. Jacks for BOTH aux and mic are VERY appreciated and are both clearly labeled. 🎧 Analog radio tuner =🤌🤌. The video shows it sitting on its horizontal side but it also stands just as steadily vertically with the antenna pointing up. 👍 VERY easy to open and insert tapes. 🙌 I have tried other brands on Amazon that were fine but were a bit flimsy and got jammed or stuck pretty easily. I had bought two of one kind that worked okay but both started making screeching noises and quit working after about a month of very minimal use each. ☹️ It obviously hasn't been that long yet, but I haven't seen reviews here talking about this Semier stopping working (unlike the other one whose bad reviews I did not listen to🫣). I am actually really confident that that isn't going to be an issue with this walkman; it feels better and works better right out of the gate so I doubt that's going to be an issue. If it is as some point, it's likely a fluke or my fault and I can always return it/contact the company for help. 🙏 This has a remarkable PRICE and I truly see no need to buy anything more expensive as this does what it needs to and does it very well. 💲 The external speaker is VERY good. Keep in mind my video is of a super old tape and by nature isn't going to sound like Bose, no matter how it's played. 📻 The only reason someone might want to upgrade to a more expensive brand is to find one with a very VERY good speaker/Bluetooth compatibility, but we're talking about cassette players here which are predominantly intended for wired headphone use, so an external speaker is just a big bonus.👌 I tried the earbuds and they have a nice WARM sound to them and are really COMFYY. The earpiece parts are metal on the outside which just made them seem really fancy and cool. They have nice clarity (maybe a smidge muddy on some of the lower-mids but that's likely due to my tapes being old). 🎵 All in all, thank for coming to my TedTalk today, you've been a great crowd and I hope you will buy this if you're looking for a wonderful cassette player. If not then just to support these guys cause quality is hard to come by. Thank you and goodnight 👋.

Great Product - hightly recommend!
I’ve been putting the SEMIER SM-I36 through its paces, and honestly, it’s a beast for what it is. If you’ve got a backlog of old cassettes that need saving, this is the tool for the job. Direct-to-PC Recording is Flawless Most of these "converters" are total junk—flimsy plastic that feels like it’ll eat your tapes. This one is different. The PC recording works flawlessly. I plugged it in, and the OS picked it up immediately—no fighting with drivers or weird workarounds. The audio signal is clean, too. You get that solid analog warmth without the digital hum or motor flutter that usually plagues the cheap stuff. The Breakdown Solid Build: It’s "small" but doesn't feel like a toy. The buttons have a real tactile click. Rock-Solid Playback: The motor speed is actually consistent. No dragging or "underwater" sounding audio here. Zero Friction: It’s basically plug-and-play. If you’re trying to digitize a whole library, this is easily the path of least resistance. Bottom Line It’s rare to find a modern tape player that actually delivers. Whether you’re hit with a wave of nostalgia or just mid-project trying to archive years of audio, the SM-I36 is a sleeper hit. It’s compact, reliable, and just gets the work done.

Works well, but it isn't stereo
The SM-163 Cassette Player MP3 Converter is a very convenient, no hassle way to digitize your old cassette tapes. My venerable Sony cassette deck's rubber drive belts have turned to glue and about 100 cassettes from the 1970s and 1980s are inaccessible. This is a simple way to put those tapes into an accessible modern format. Given the price, one shouldn't expect the highest quality and precision, and indeed one has to fiddle with the tape a little to load it sometimes, but this is minor. Overall I was pleased with the operation. One just has to load the cassette, load a MicroSD card (included), press a couple of buttons and wait. The device shuts off automatically at the end. Turn the tape around, press a couple of buttons, and it records the other side. I converted cassettes to digital both with the MicroSD card internally, and with the USB cable connected to my computer recording with the included Audacity software (I suggest downloading the latest version rather than using what's on the CD). The reason I downrated this is an unmet expectation based on the Amazon product description that says: "Preserve your cherished music collection in a modern digital format." If a user cherishes their music collection — especially stereo recordings — they'll reasonably expect a converter to preserve stereo fidelity. The SM-163 does not. It mixes the left and right channels into one single monaural output that is then sent to both the left and right channels of the output MP3 file or the headphone jack. The headphone jack wiring is nonstandard — it connects only two of the three terminals, and neither is ground. This works for headphones but may cause issues when connecting to audio systems without a custom cable.. I spent the better part of an afternoon trying to figure out what was wrong before coming to the realization that this was not a stereo device. That fact was confirmed by a prompt response from the seller: "This is not a stereo cassette player." Let me be clear: there is nothing in the product description, nor in the Instruction Manual with the word "stereo." I asked Rufus, and it said it didn't know. I just jumped to a wrong conclusion. In reality, most of my old cassette tapes are not stereo. Some are "stereo compatible," which just means they are monaural but work on a stereo cassette deck. I have decided to keep the SM-163 because it's convenient and my cassettes are mostly old memories rather than serious music to listen to. Plus a full conversion would require manually breaking up cassette sides into individual tracks and labeling them. The converted cassettes sound good, and studio monitor headphones plugged into the SM-163 deliver clean playback — even if it’s mono.

Met and exceeded my expectations
Exceeded my expectations. I am a multimedia specialist and convert lots of different media for the members of my retirement community. I needed a way to record cassette tapes to digital format and reviewed some 12 devices on amazon. I selected this particular one because of the reviews and features. It is a little larger than casette player but appears to be well build. I tested playing a casette tape and the audio thru the small speaker was good, I tested with a quality headset and the audio was great. I recorded to the provided Mini SD card, then transferred to my computer and edited with Cyberlink audio director and the audio quality was very good, no hiss, or noise. I like that it works both with 4 AA batteries and by connecting a power accessory to the USB-C port. I also tested recording from SD to Tape and the autio was good.

Bad Sound Quality for SDcard to cassette recording
I bought this so I could go retro and listen to music on cassette tapes again. I bought this a pack Maxell 60 minute blank cassettes for the endeavor. I loaded mp3 songs on the SD card and loaded the blank cassette and hit record. The earlier tests produced a recording with inconsistent speed, with the audio speeding up then slowing down. I had to clean the play/record head. It was very dirty. I tried again. The transfer was successful but there was a constant hissing in the background. So if you're transferring music from sd card to cassette, look for something else

Great cassette player/AM/FM radio
This cassette player/AM/FM radio is a very nice Walkman alternative but IMO it's too chunky to wear clipped on a belt. It's your basic old school radio/cassette player, meaning it doesn't have BT or an SD slot. With it, you can listen to AM/FM radio and play and record cassettes. It runs on 2 AA batteries or an external power source. A compatible USB cable is conveniently provided. It has a built-in mic for voice recording and also a microphone and earphone jack for plugging in the supplied earbuds. Its fit and finish are top notch, and it plays my old cassettes perfectly. The built-in speaker sounds loud and pleasant even at higher volumes. The AM/FM radio works great. I can listen to AM stations 100s of miles away with good nighttime propagation. FM stations come in loud and clear as expected. Its current price makes it a very good value. I'm thinking of buying a second one. I highly recommend it.

It works!
It works! I just copied three tapes onto the sd card and then transferred them to my computer. It was quick and easy. I was not able to copy them directly to the computer using Audacity. Most likely it was my problem, because I tend not to read all the instructions. I really liked the screen for the sd recording and the fact that I didn't need batteries, just plugged into an outlet using the usb cord. This was a little more expensive than the other converter I purchased last year, but considering that one stopped working I think it is worth the money. I like that I don't have to wear ear phones to listen to the tape. It makes it so much easier to hear the sound. If you are looking for a tape to digital converter, this is it.

Works Great ,Saves Time, Auto Stop don't work in all functions except Recording when most important!
The Auto Stop doesn't work with all functions ! It doesn't work with fast forward and rewind ! I did work when recording for me. Would have given this product a 5 stars if it weren't for that not clearly explained in the description. Works great recording your cassette to MP3 ! Each side of the cassette is one big mp3 ! I can always use a mp3 cutting program to cut and label each song if I want to. I was able to get 97 minutes on one CD because there is no data tagged to it which is great ! Sound Quality is Great, perhaps better than the 33 year old casette without the tape hiss ! Its a big time saver ! I preserved family band recordings with it and am very happy !!! I did file a complaint about the description about AUTO STOP feature in description !

Doesn’t work and ruined my tapes
It’s awful. It kept eating my tape and I tried different batteries, or USB..the problem is clearly with the cassete player. The reels only spin for three seconds befors the sound distorted then faded altogether. The radio is the only thing working fine but it’s not what I got this for. I will return it and buy a different brand.
