Cute little wooden bead set. Gave it to my almost four year old to see if she liked making jewelry (before buying a big thing or beads/string. She loved it. Very sturdy and cute.

This Melissa & Doug Shimmering Hearts Wooden Bead Set (Jewelry-Making Kit, 45+ Beads, 3 String Laces) is a great kit for little girls. I purchased two - one for my 4-year-old granddaughter and another for my 3-year-old great-niece. Both girls had a good time making necklaces and needed little to no help to do so. As always, the Melissa and Doug brand does not disappoint. Also, it was a great value for the money. Very pleased with this purchase. Highly recommend.

Perfect Valentine's gift for 5 year old. The set is smaller than I thought, however my 5 year old has asked to play with this every day since getting it. There are three different strings (dark pink, light pink, purple) that are wax coated on the ends for easy stringing of the beads. The beads are wooden, quality, and most important to my 5 year old daughter...pink and sparkly.

Bought one of these for each of my girls for valentines day. I wish it had a lid but maybe that's what keeps the price down. We keep it in a little container. kids under 7 may need help tying a knot on the ends and putting the ends on the right way. Quality of the beads is great.

Gave this as a gift to a four year old - she had a lot of fun, was able to make several necklaces (she actually re strung them several times). The holographic glitter portions look a bit painted on/sticker like, but that didn't matter to the little girl. Overall the packaging made it look like a more expensive item than it actually was. I will be buying more to give as birthday gifts to my daughters' friends.

Why does Melissa and Doug hate parents and make these "boxes" that have no true kids. Like, do I really want a box of BEADS with a lid that doesmt stay closed? Their wooden "boxes" are always trays, not boxes, and less useful than a Ziploc bag. The beads are cute. The strings are fine. There aren't enough beads in my opinion, but that's not terrible. But it's just frankly wasteful to keep putting your products in "boxes" that are useless.

I sent this to my six year old granddaughter. She was recovering from an illness that required a restriction in her physical activity. It was a quiet project for her to do that she enjoyed.

I purchased these as a gift for my 4-year-old niece. She loves them!Some of the pieces are pretty small, so I would avoid this product for children under 3, or those that still like to put toys in their mouths. I would also recommend supervision for younger children when using or wearing the laces as they can be a strangulation hazard. But for a jewelry-loving little girl, these were a hit!

Great little gift set for the price, makes 2 pretty necklaces in the kit. I precept some fancy string (yes. fancy - thank you amazon!) at bracelet size so can make up to 10 bracelets if you prefer.Good for practicing co-ordination by threading the beads and dexterity too. Have bought several of these for party gifts/favours.Beads are solid and well made with lovely sparkly colours. However, they will mess up your hoover if you repeatedly run them over when doing a rage clean up after a toddler (we've all been there).

My daughter is crafting silver and feather jewellery, as a hobby. My 4 year old grandson was delighted to receive this colourful bead set to work along side her. His creations are lovely.

These items are great for jewellery making. Children love them. They are durable and Fun to use when jewellery making.
