Perfect for my needs
I love this machine. Its easy to use, and it comes with a bunch of accessories. Do yourself a favor, however, and get an overlocking foot. It'll save you some frustration and about $260 in the shape of a serger if you dont want to deal with that. I have seen some discord about the needle position dial having stopped working; THIS IS USER ERROR 99% of the time. It took me less than a minute of research to find out what went wrong. Reset your tension (4), stitch length (2.5), width (0) and type (straight). The needle should move back to center (if thats where the dial is). Make sure you're changing your needle, using the right needle, and sweeping the lint regularly. This thing has trucked through zippers, heavy fabrics and multiple layers like a champ, but you HAVE to take care of it. Stop blaming the machine for your lack of research. I'm a fairly novice sewist, and this machine has done its job perfectly because I've done my due diligence.

Great product
Love this machine. It's faster than my domestic brother and has great stitches. The quilt bar is a little hard to use but may just be operator error. It holds up great with high speed sewing and has made so many great products. Below is a picture made with this machine and it turned out great!

4 Molle Web + 2 1000D Fabric Easy!
Fantastic!! Truly Heavy Duty for a great price! I work with 1000D Fabrics, Molle Webbing, Velcro, and Eva Foam as Fabric Materials. This machine handles 4 Layers of Molle Webbing + 2 Layers of 1000D fabric with ease! Granted, I did already bend the stock needle that it came out-of-the-box with, but the included 100/16 Needle has proven more durable! I was debating between this or the 4411, but the 4452 has more accessories that's more affordable to purchase together with more stitch options. Although, I don't really plan to use a lot of different stitch options since I was also debating on an industrial machine that only has 1 stich option. I truly believe this is a "Heavy Duty" Sewing Machine, and the people who say 'don't buy into "Heavy Duty"' may just lack a bit more experience with different machines. I had a Viking Emerald 116, that the salesman said was good enough to be heavy duty but was not labeled "Heavy Duty," and although I used it for 3 years, it struggled with every project. My Viking finally broke, but I wish it broke sooner or just bought the SINGER Heavy Duty 4452 Machine at the beginning!

good machine
I bought this sewing machine in 2022. I would have given it 5 stars but wasn’t as heavy duty as I had hoped. I do a lot of home decor so my fabric is thicker. I thought this was such a great machine. It seemed to handle the job till it didn’t. Went to get it fixed and they quoted a price of $300. Googled the problem and thought I fixed but still the problem but is not a %100 so sadly will have to replace. I really do like this machine especially the price point and how it handled bulky fabric. I dont believe I will be purchasing another singer 4452. Need something that will last longer than 4 years.

Excellent machine!
I’ve had my machine for a while now and I’ve made quite a few projects with it. I am absolutely thrilled with how well it works. There are more than enough stitch functions for most sewists. This machine is mechanical instead of digital which means I can clean and maintain it on my own and not have to worry with electronics and circuits breaking down. Don’t be intimidated by the word “mechanical” if you’re new to sewing. Everything is as easy as turning a dial. Like most machines it works best if you remove the throat plate and clean and oil it after every project. It’s insanely simple and takes me about 5 minutes to do. You can find tutorials online, and other than the oil (which is cheap and lasts forever) this machine comes with all of the tools you need although I recommend buying a tiny screwdriver set if you sew a lot. I’ve even set the timing on this thing after a mishap with an aftermarket ruffled foot and was amazed at how simple it was to do. I also like that if you learn to listen to this machine it’s going to tell you waaay ahead of time if there’s a problem so you can take care of it before it jams. The only problem I’ve had with this machine is that if I use the upright spool pin the thread sometimes jumps and wraps around the pin and jams. I finally quit using that pin and either use a freestanding one I bought cheap or the horizontal pin that comes with the machine. I’ve been able to sew corsets with multiple layers of fabric and cording with no issues at all. It took me a few tries to get the buttonhole feature right (really make sure you have the lever all the way down, again, watch a few videos online) but buttonholes are now easy as pie. If you’re a more advanced sewer who loves all of the bells and whistles like push button thread cutters and super fancy features, this probably won’t be your fave unless you’re looking for a workhorse for more sturdy fabrics. But I assume that anyone that advanced is probably looking at machines that are 5 times more expensive and will require a pro to service once a year.

Update after light use over 15 months. DON'T BUY!
After owning this machine for 15 months with very light use, maybe 10-12 hours, it stopped working properly. I used Singer needles, Singer thread, tension was set properly, but the machine's hook fails to consistently pick up the top thread resulting in skipped stitches or a birds nest. Here's what I found: The Singer Warranty is not really 25 years, it's 90 days. 25 years is for the metal frame under the plastic cover. You know, the only part that will never break. All the mechanical parts are only 90 days. The electric motor, LED light & plastic foot pedal get 2 years. It will be the mechanical parts that break, strip, wear out too fast, or get out of time. That's the bulk of the machine. The labor cost to repair this machine just once makes buying a higher-end machine a much better value. Buy once, cry once. Singer's website and Customer Care continued to state there was a repair facility that no longer existed. They dumped Singer. They even removed Singer from their name, and sell competitor's machines. In California, you now have only TWO authorized repair facilities; Downey & San Mateo. All the rest are gone. Not a good sign when dealers are dumping your company, web sites are out of date, and Customer Care....doesn't. I bought Singer based on their reputation and my belief they stood behind their products. Well, Sears, Montgomery Ward, and a bunch of other companies were once well respected and once took care of Customers, too. Times change. This is a solid machine with a lot of features. It seems to be the best in it's price range. Some will say it's too much for a beginner, but with the minimal price difference and the added features, I wouldn't hesitate. Yes, there will be a learning curve. You can keep it simple at first and easily grow into this machine. The included walking foot option was worth the price difference to me over the next lower model. I don't find the threading assist that useful, as I can thread the needle faster, but you may and it does work. My only "wish" is if it could easily hold the larger, commercial type thread spools instead of buying a separate holder with post and guide. I like the Embroidex adjustable if you go that route. If it matters to you, the machine is easily powerful enough to sew webbing with a size 18 needle and #92 polyester thread, and the zig zag stitches are perfect. Jeans? No sweat. If only my skills were as good as this machine, I could make my brothers prom dress....

A real powerhouse, but take the time to get the tension just right. It's very picky there.
I have no idea what is with all the negative reviews. I think sometimes it's harder to tune a machine than it is to just return one and never learn how to work it. For me, this machine was bought for two reasons - Vinyl upholstery and clothing repair. I don't quilt, so maybe that's the big hiccup, though I can't imagine how it'd be a problem there too. For my vinyl, it's up to 5 layers thick and this machine sews through them without any problems. I did have some birdnesting up front, but dialed in the tension over the course of about 30 minutes. It's much more particular on tension than my old machine. But once that was set for the thread I was using and the stiff needle, it just powered through the job like a redneck roofing a house. This was with a zigzag stitch. After two days of vinyl work, I swapped to repairing some shirts with a straight stitch and another zigzag. Again, no problems once I got the tension figured out for the thread and needle I swapped to. And man does it sew fast! I didn't like the needle threader at first, having never used one, but after a couple of tries I love it. Wouldn't own a machine without it now. When I get old and can't see anymore, this will make it simple to rethread. I also like the thread cutter quite a bit. It comes out to the right length every time to move on to the next seam. One thing I'd like is for them to start using LED targeted lights on these machines. A white light instead of the dull gold bulb, and adjustable too...Sort of like a flashlight you can swap to broad beam and tight beam depending on usage. Other than that, I'm happy and work is getting done. I can't believe this thing isn't five hundred dollars.

Don’t forget the transformer
If buying this for use in the UK you will need a 240v to 110v transformer as it is a 110v model but it still worth every penny

Ottima. Consigliata
Ottimo acquisto!
