Winch gears are cheap and don't hold up. While cranking my boat up the gears started to skip, bend and now are completely stripped. Don't waste your money on chinese junk. No warranty on it so I threw it away and bought a Fulton which works flawlessly. Stick with the names you know when it comes to boat trailer winches is what I've now learned the hard way.

First winch I got broke on the first use, tooth snapped off. I reached out to the company and they took care of me right away. Must have been a fluke, the 2nd winch works flawlessly. I use it on my 2007 SeaRay 220 Sundeck.

Well, it lasted less than a year before three teeth broke off of the gears on an 18’ boat that weighs less than 2000lbs. Save your money. I thought I bought overkill. I bought junk. :(

Easily replaced the old one

Pros - This winch appears to be pretty stout. Seems well made. Well priced Cons - poorly packaged. Zero instructions. I’ve had to replace several winches. I guess my boat is heavier than what it would appear. I have stripped The gears on previous winches. This one is rated at 3500lbs and is a 2 speed (my 1st) The item arrived pretty quickly. It came in a box within a box. That’s it. No instructions. No diagrams. No pictures. Just parts in a plain box packed in an Amazon box. Fortunately I’ve had to replace mine a couple times so that part wasn’t a big deal. However if this is your first time, you might wonder if you’re doing it correctly. This is my 1st 2 speed winch and nothing explains the how, when, or why to change speeds or why you would need to do so. The item appears well built and sturdy. I will find out next week when I take the boat out for 5 days. One thing I did find convenient is a spring loaded lever to release the locking foot or to engage it. No more trying to thumb the latch with a lot Of pressure on it. The price is very good, cheaper than buying the cheaper made winches from the big box stores. Time will tell if it performs better.

So far it has been working great love using the second gear makes it easier to pull my boat up. The only change I would make is somehow have the handle easier to remove so you can switch it from one gear to the other without having to unbolt the handle.

Bought as a replacement of a 1800# cable winch for my pontoon trailer, this 3500# strap winch has almost double the weight rating and should not have failed on literally the 3rd use, trailer and winch stored in my pole barn so it wasn't exposed to the elements, very disappointed, and sad that I'm out of the Warranty

the winch installed easily---looked really good along with the colors of my boat......then two weeks later the metal wheel with the cogs started breaking out. Would not winch my aluminum boat on the trailer. And the boat weighs nothing..... called the company -- they wanted pictures -- I sent pictures.....oh, they were so nice...they were so sorry it happened. Promised me a new one in a week......well--it's been 9 months and no winch has arrived. I have complained to Amazon but they refer me to the company......Terrible-Terrible...I will not product from that company again.
