Anolon Classic Stainless Steel Universal Covered Steamer Insert

I had used those folding leaves type steamers forever, and finally got tired of replacing them every couple of years when they fell apart, so I popped for this one. Very glad I did. I am using it with my grandmother's ancient (well over 50 years old) Revere Ware copper bottom pans, and it works very well. I like the glass lid just on its own too. I have a small Anolon non stick saute pan, and this lid fits it perfectly and, bonus!, is see through, so I can keep an eye on my morning eggs. I have kept my folding leaves steamer for occasional use for larger quantities -- like if I need to hard cook a dozen eggs instead of two to six. But, that lone exception, this is 1000% better. I have never purchased an Anolon pan that I haven't loved.

Works on many different sized pots and a great value. Nicely made, too.

This is a terrific steamer basket!! We use it almost daily as an alternative to the microwave steamer bags. It's definitely universal, I use it with my mom's ancient Faberware pot set, and it fits inside the 2,3,and 4 qt. pots with no issue. I have a very wide 4qt circulon sautéuse which this basket does not work with, but that doesn't bother me. It's easy to clean and easy to use! The only reason I've knocked off a star is because the handles get very hot. The side handles I expect, but the lid handle also gets too hot. I have to use a pot holder to open it, which isn't hard. I just think it should have a silicone grip since lids are often removed to check cooking and what not.

Great steamer that fits many sizes of pots!

I recently bought a new set of saucepans and needed a steamer for vegetables. This steamer was the perfect fit for 3 different pans, as well as being high quality stainless steel and construction. I'm delighted!

Unit is easy to use, just put in pot with water. Fast to clean compared to the fan units that have the overlaps not to mention the food sometimes getting stuck in between each overlap. It also is a nice match to the Calphalon cookware I use.
