The cost of this preamp was very reasonable and arrived in one day. It was fairly easy to install. After installation, the guitar jack did nothing but buzz. I tried a different cable as well as another amp with the same result. I had to remove the preamp and cut the wires to the input jack as it was hard wired to the preamp. I then had to solder the new jack to the cut wires. It works but has the worst sound quality. Well at least it covers the hole I had to cut in the guitar for the preamp and the new input jack fills the hole I had to drill for the old input jack. I can only say purchase at your own discretion. Add a little more money for a better preamp and you will most likely be satisfied.

I installed this preamp in a Dean acoustic bass that had a passive pickup. As a pre-amp with EQ it works. It does that job well. However, the power switch does NOT turn the pre-amp on and off! I need to remove the battery to be certain the unit is not draining the battery…. Your mileage may vary….

Not a bad fit but it doesnt work. When the battery is pushed in or taken out i hear the static throught the amp but nothing from pickup... Will de contacting for a new one!

This thing doesn’t work. Beyond unimpressed. You guys can replace my guitar I had to cut open for it to fit as well.
