Review: for me, it’s not as good a value as it could be. - I’m a fan of Yamaha guitars, but in my experience, it seems the more expensive ones don’t necessarily sound or play better than the less expensive ones. To me they over build the guitar, it could be more resonant for the money in my opinion. Although it’s a very nice guitar, it really depends on your level of play.

I’m a fan of Yamaha guitars, but in my experience, it seems the more expensive ones don’t necessarily sound or play better than the less expensive ones. To me they over build the guitar, it could be more resonant for the money in my opinion. Although it’s a very nice guitar, it really depends on your level of play.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Very good - not brilliant

The GC22C is what you would expect from Yamaha, especially at this price; excellent quality throughout, beautiful finish, a classy hard case. Good sound, easy playing, no tuning or other issues. Had to lower the saddle a bit but that's not unusual on a new guitar. Does not seem to be too sensitive to changes in temperature and humidity. Why only four stars? The sound is very good, but not the kind of beauty you'd fall in love with. It could use more volume and more nuance. Of course, experimenting with different strings might produce surprising results. Right now I'm using medium tension Savarez, next set will be a set of Italian strings and the sound will be different.
