It's nothing like wearing a submariner from that point of view
This is such an iconic timepiece! For its history, the concepts it introduced and its style. I have had a few Tags before, but this is THE tag to have in my opinion if you want to have just one. This particular re-edition of the 1971 Steve Macqueen design is the ultimate one. Sapphire front and back as opposed to plastic in the front and metal in the back of many of the ones released since 1998. I dare you to find other guy wearing this watch in the same room as you. It's nothing like wearing a submariner from that point of view. The crown at 9 is a fantastic conversation starter for those who like watches. The square case alone will draw a lot of attention, but the crown position will prompt people to ask you about it. I read somewhere that 95% of the watches are round shaped, so if you want to step out of the ordinary, this is it. Try it on your wrist before buying it. It's a 39mm case, but the square shape makes it standout on your wrist making it look bigger, so try it on before buying it (MUST). Thickness is average for a chrono watch. It will fit under the sleeve, but it will be tight. Not for flippers, buy it if you like it and intend to keep it. Tag is known for releasing limited edition after limited edition. This particular watch had a few limited editions before this mainstream release so be aware of that. Don't buy thinking of flipping it or you'll lose money. This is a keeper.

I finally found THE watch, perfect size and style
I owned a tag heuer quite awhile ago but swiftly moved on to the other premium luxury brands. While there were several Omega and Rolex that I enjoyed, the Monaco kept calling to me.Mine came from an authorized dealer instead of Amazon, but the only difference is who covers the warranty, tag or Amazon.I won't review all the features that make this the perfect reissue to the original in the 70s as there are many articles covering that, but I love the matte blue dial and of course the dramatic square case. It is the only Heuer I would buy, and almost didn't since I don't care for what they are doing in other models, but I am glad I did. It is more stunning in person for sure. I also love that they moved the crown to the left as the original was and also used the vintage "Heuer" branding on the dial and clasp instead of the newer "tag Heuer".Oh, and if you are worried about the 39mm don't be fooled because since it is square it wears larger than you think. To put it into perspective I find a sub to be to small, and a Pelagos to be the minimum and almost optimum size. It actually wears like the Pelagos size wise, at least in my opinion. I will try to upload a pic of it on my 6.75-7" wrist.

You cannot beat make a mistake buying this
My first TAG, oops, Heuer. I have to admit I first saw it in the movie and with Steve McQueen and all....well, it just became something I really wanted and I got it when I retired. I almost bought the one with the crown on the right side, but the jeweler told me about this one was coming out so I waited. As noted by others, 39 mm sounds a little small, but the square case wears well (at this point, excepting this watch, I now try to stay 41 mm or more). I have two other TAGs, both great automatics, but this is my sentimental go to. After what this watch cost, I didn't see getting another expensive TAG. Although I did, I still wear this watch with whatever I'm wearing- its stature and historic look goes with anything. The watch keeps excellent time and when people who know watches see it, they want you to take it off your wrist and look close. Hey, Rolex is Rolex, but no one has this watch with its heritage and near exact reproduction of the great Jack Heuer original.

Toller Klassiker
