Excellent grip and confidence on trails
ve been using this Maxxis Assegai tyre on our bike trails and the grip has been excellent, especially on loose terrain, roots and wet sections. It gives a lot of confidence on descents and corners, and the wider 2.50 size helps with stability and control without feeling too heavy. The tyre feels very durable and the tread still looks great after regular rides.Setup was straightforward and it seated well tubeless. The EXO+ protection also gives extra peace of mind on rougher trails. Rolling resistance is slightly higher compared to faster XC tyres, but that’s expected with the amount of grip and traction it provides. Overall, a high quality trail and enduro tyre that performs really well in mixed conditions.

Cornergod
Having had dual agressors which I have worn out (non exo+ and I didn't run tubeless).I decided to go dual Assegai - the first that hits you is cornering.. it is simply insane, you have so much agility and response that you are able to go on a super advanced obstacle course at speed.Yes the rolling resistance is more noticeable, but the grip is above average going downhill on losepac. The tyre hates mud however and becomes somewhat sloppy and a little dangerous. On the wet tarmac - plenty of grip but not a glued on feeling, this is a hardpac first tyre.Going tubeless was a doddle, great fit on my rims, no issues , nice and tight - used a tyre lever. The exo+ is decent, a few hundred miles, no punctures to speak of - definitely go tubeless with this tyre.
