Hiland GSF-DGH Square ative Propane Fire Pit w/Lid, 40,000 BTU, Decorative Bronze

Works great, looks great, not too difficult to assemble! However, they forgot to include the instructions so we had to google them which wasn’t as convenient as just having them delivered in the shipping box. For that, they get 4/5 stars instead of 5/5 stars.We love sitting by our fire pit at night! Looks expensive but priced great. I was worried about the mixed reviews but happy we got one without any issues to report. We’ve used it about 4 times already. The igniter button didn’t work the first fire up, but has worked great the second time and from then on. I think it just needed to get going first. Super impressed with how much heat it gives off (our bodies sit about 3-4 feet away from the flames) and I already gave info to our friends on which fire pit table to order after they came over and loved it too! I’d refer my friends & family on this item for sure.

There was an issue with the ignitor on our heater. The company we ordered it from off of Amazon offered for us to return it for a full refund or offered us a discount to keep it as is. Well it was already put together so we opted to take the discount. I then contacted the manufacturer directly to get the problem with the ignitor fixed. They sent us a new burner unit yet we still had the exact same problem. I got in touch with the manufacturer again and they advised me they found a flaw in the face plate of the ignition switch and told us how to fix the problem. Works perfectly fine since we fixed it. The manufacturer has terrific and very friendly customer service.We love everything about this heater now that it is working properly. Perfect height, nice size and color and very sturdy. My only complaint would be that there were not enough of the decorative stones included. We just purchased extra separately. I would also purchase a cover for it as we did.

For the price I paid, it is alright. I knew going in that it wasn't a top of the line fire pit. I wasn't about to spend $1000+ for a fire pit. I would have returned it no question, if I paid more than I did (less than $300 Delivered).There is not enough fire glass to cover the burner. I will need to spend more money to top it of an make it look better.One of the top panels was was bent. Two of the others have chips in the finish where the join together. You can see it in the pictures. The chips are probably caused from the panel being dipped and then running while drying. A concern for possible rust.One of the rubber feet is completely ripped.If i was a person looking into a fire pit, I would look elsewhere unless you are able to get it for $300 like I did. No way I would pay $500 like it currently is selling for.Good luck !

We've been happy overall with this purchase, certainly a good value at the price point we bought it for. My only dislike has been the multiple piece table top. Due to the nature of how its assembled it creates an uneven surface at the joints. It's not horrible, just something that a flat table wouldn't have.onto the likes. this unit was reasonably easy to assemble by myself. Overall it looks very nice. It's also super easy to light! This makes quiet fires to sit around basically no work all! I would recommend this for anyone looking for a bargain priced fire table.

As others have stated box was beat up when arrived, one part sticking out(metal gas strap), which is bendable anyway. When ups dropped it off he basically poured the box on my patio. Putting together I had to bend a few of the flanges on the side pieces straight again (using pliers) in order to line up properly for assembly. Once assembled lid is a tight fit, too tight, but it will work itself out. I'd buy it again for the price and would recommend it, but the outside packaging needs to get beefed up for this heavy item. All parts were enclosed, no cosmetic damage on visible parts. Functions properly, good heat, def buy more stones to put over what's supplied. As per their tech, keep their stones on bottom (3/4-1 inch round reflective clear) and top off with whatever color or size you want. Stock larger stones must be on bottom to provide enough air for burner.

For the price, this is a great heater, especially if you're looking for something BIG. It's simple to assemble and takes about an hour for one person. It delivers a good amount of heat and a generous flame. Make sure you pay attention to the dimensions as this thing really occupies a lot of real estate and is tall, too, so it can sort-of overwhelm your sitting area and overshadow your other furniture. Four stars because of two things: The design absolutely prevents the lid from fitting (as you've read in numerous reviews), so I had to add custom modifications in order to get it to close properly. Also, though it's completely sturdy, it's not suitable for sitting on, as the metal bends slightly under the weight of most bums. You wouldn't think this to be an issue until you see how large/tall it is... when it's closed/off, people are drawn like magnets to it as a seat.***************************Update 7/24/20Unfortunately, this fire pit has not help up well. First, the "slight bending" I mentioned previously has become a big deal... It's now severely bent from people briefly sitting on it (before I can ask them no to). Secondly, the ignitor has had numerous problems since the beginning and eventually failed completely. Got no help, no love, no reply from the manufacturer.

I am now enjoying this since summer 2919. It is spring 2021 here in Iowa. It was not easy to put together myself, but the company provided great service in response to my help questions. This fire pit has been flawless in performance. Rock solid. Looks and works great. Highly recommend based in my own experience. It generates a nice amount of heat to make it very enjoyable on these cool Iowa evenings.

Was a little tricky during assembly to get the top square so the rock cover fits well and does not stick in a corner. Love the heat output, and ease of lighting. Not a fan though of the white glass rock. When I took the cover off to use, my son said "wow, that is a lot of ice" :)
