Ease of application, fast drying
I've used this sealer, both the clear and gold tone tint for several years on the teak decks of Whisper, my 1954 Abeking and Rasmussen sailboat. Love it! Seals, provides a moderate tint, and goes on like water! It is dry to walk on the same day. I usually apply 2 coats in the spring and another later in summer. Appealing visually and an excellent value.

Refinished teak furniture looks great.
We needed to refinish some outdoor teak furniture after years of "teak oil" abuse. While there was a lot of sanding involved to get the "teak oil" off, applying two coats of Semco Teak Sealer was a snap and the complete project looked great. It's been a month. I'll update the review if after time things change.update.. a couple of years later. The Semco still looks good, but after two years, a re-coat was in order. It was so much easier than the "teak oils" that all left a hard residue. Semco looks so much more natural and is lightyears easier to reapply. In my climate (northern front range of Colorado), it seems to last about 2 years. I could go 3, but as it's not that hard to reapply (hose of the furniture. let it dry. and apply) 2 years is probably better.I'd still highly recommend this for teak furniture!

Works as expected.
I had to strip multiple layers of varnish from the wood on a used boat and it took me 50 hours. It appears that the previous owner just kept layering it on without ever sanding. At first I tried tick oil which was okay. But then a very knowledgeable friend suggested I try semco. As recommended, I thoroughly cleaned the teak and let it dry for a few days. I then applied a coat of semco, waited day and applied another coat. It looks great and it's much more water repellent than the teak coil, and seems to require less maintenance.I was told and then did some research that teak oil actually draws the natural oils out of the teak, and therefore isn't the best solution. I'm sold on semco and I'll continue to use it in the future.

teak sealer easy to use
the local hardware stores did not have waterproof stain that is for teak wood, or is even teak color. this product is a teak sealer, so your original color stays true, and it is easy to use.

Holding up well on a swim deck
Goes on very thin, easy to apply. We used it on a new teak swim deck. It does scratch easily, however touch ups are super easy. We like the 'raw wood' feel of the swim deck. Other products are far too slippery.

Great Product
Semco is a fantastic product. I have used it for over 35 years. The teak looks great and it lasts all summer unlike most products that have to be redone. Recommend cleaning dirty teak with vinegar and water and a brush before applying.

Just Ok
Goes on well but color fades after only a few months. Also, way too expensive!I will look for another brand next spring.
