This thermal blanket comes in a pack of ten. It's large size (1.6m x 2.1m) means that it will comfortably wrap around an adult or two children. The blanket is well-made and does not rip or tear, even when stretched quite forcefully.I tested this on my husband; I contemplated sending him out in the snow to see how long he survived, but since a) I like him and b) it’s August, I settled for having him model it in the house.As you can see from the pictures, the gold outer layer is bright, catches the light well and would probably help attract rescuers if you were using it whilst camping or hiking.My husband reports feeling noticeably warmer after wearing the blanket for five minutes, so the silver underside seemed to be doing its job of sealing in body heat. He also stayed alive, which is a plus.Although this foil blanket is designed to be disposable, it’s tough enough that if you fold it carefully, you should be able to re-use it (although you probably wouldn’t manage to get it back into such a small packet).Since we have ten of these (which is a good number for a two-adult family), two will be going in each car (for driver and passenger), and I will put one in my day-bag, since you never know when you might need this sort of thing, and it’s so small and light that you can carry one foil blanket around in a handbag.

Packaging 10 space blankets together at such a reasonable price is a great idea. They are a good size and are perfect for home, car, and first aid kit. They are also perfect for including in the safety gear for group activities, especially hill walking, camping, climbing or water sports and activities in non-tropical locations. I have packed mine into the family first aid kit for times when the whole family goes on holiday. I hope we never need to use them, but if cold or shock are ever an issue for any or all of us, I will be prepared - and nobody will be left without one. And all for just over a tenner. An investment worth making..
