The latest glass tea pot from Hario, the Cha Cha Kyusu "Zen" is sure to be your new "go to" teapot for your favourite sencha. Thanks to the generously sized filter, it's easy to fill and simple to pour. The best part is that it's a snap to clean. Review: Just can't beat Hario for quality & design. Absolutely lovely. - I am a Hario fan since I make pourover coffee using their products. I was more than surprised at how easily this tea pot poured without spilling and how heavy & well made it is. Being glass, of course it can break but it is a high quality glass & you can feel/see that. The basket is amazing to use with loose tea and the glass lid is far sturdier than any other lids on my other brand glass tea pots. Overall, it's an absolutely lovely looking pot. One feature that may not factor in for many users but is a big factor for me is the handle shape. I'm able to grip it to pour without my hand sliding on a rounded handle. The flattish shape at the top of the handle is outstanding. I have arthritis in my hands so this is a huge point for me. I'm 100% please with being able to firmly hold & pour with this pot. Now that I see how beautiful this is, I think I'll order the next size larger as well for daily use. The quality is excellent and the pieces are sturdy, well made glass. It feels and looks wonderful Review: A cute tea pot - Very nice tea pot!

Nice Daily Teapot
This is a nice, daily-use teapot for one or two people.

Excellent
There isn't a whole lot to say, but it's durable, well-designed, does its job perfectly, and looks nice. Do yourself a favor and don't bother with the metal mesh basket; I never use them. The better way is to simply pour the tea through a fine strainer sitting on your cup.

Ok for sencha--better for other teas; filter slowly falling apart
UPDATE: The filter continued to deteriorate. So after a few months use, the kyusu is no longer usable. The filter is hard to clean. And the more you clean it, the more it starts to pull away from the metal ring that holds it together. The result is that you start to have more and more holes around the top circle of the filter that allow leaves through. While the glass is high quality and I like to see the tea steeping, I can't recommend this when the basket filter is so hard to clean and so fragile that it gives you a few months life span. If the filter were improved, this could go back to 5/5 stars. Without that, it is 2/5. --- I decided to try this kyusu because I find most of them really hard to keep clean of sencha leaves. My ceramic kyusus are really hard to fully clean out (without ruining the filter); but they slowly accumulate loose leaves that eventually ruin the flavor of the tea. At first I thought this kyusu was pretty easy to clean, and it still does a great job preparing sencha (and shincha). However, some small leaves tend to get pinched between the metal basket (mesh or filter) and the ring that holds the basket in shape. You can still clean out all the leaves, but its a little work to get them all of out there--especially since it is tricky to use water to push things out of (or off) a filter. Unfortunately, the main way to get the small leaves out from between the basket and ring is by pressing the basket away from the ring as you run water along it. That does a good job of sending all the leaves to the center of the basket. From there you can invert the basket and get water to push all the leaves off. Great, right? NOT SO FAST. The more you do that (and you really need to do it after each use), the more the mesh starts to work its way off the metal ring. After using it for a few months, I now have 5 small (1 cm) places where the basket's mesh no longer completely connects to the ring. So now when I use it, leaves can pour right out of these places into the tea cup. For me, that's a pretty big negative because now it's becoming useless to me. I suspect larger tea leaves (e.g. typical oolong or long leaf black teas) would be fine. But not sencha. I could largely solve my current issues if I could get a replacement basket, which would appear to be cheap. I'm guessing it wouldn't cost more than a dollar or two to get one from China. But I don't know where to order it and I can't find one from Hario. So it may now be worthless to me. On a positive note, the glass, despite appearing delicate, appears to be much more durable than I originally thought. So it hasn't broken, and I no longer worry about it breaking easily. Also, it is really nice to be able to watch the tea steep through a transparent medium, and it's great to be able to see the color of tea you have at the end. If I can find a cheap replacement basket, I'll up my review stars in the future and probably just use this for non-sencha teas. Still looking for the idea deep steamed sencha kyusu.

Finally
Went through some other teapots recommended by amazon before finally finding my way to this one. Finally, a good, well-made teapot of high quality that doesn't fill my tea with leaves. Highly recommended!

Good for two, okay for one
Aesthetically very pleasing but because of the sharp angles it does not brew well if you are filling it only halfway which would be one pour/serving. The round version of this teacup is much better for one serving.

Best Teapot in the market
This is the best teapot that I have ever purchased. Excellent quality non-toxic built and perfect for small portions and straining fine tea.

Love it
This looks great and feels quite sturdy compared to the one I already have (but it was also double the price). The tiny size is perfect for my purpose, as I make tea for one. I hope it will last a long time. Later edit : the more I use it, the more I like it! It's cute and practical and it's nice to see the tea color while is infusing. I am using it for Japanese green tea like Fukamushi cha.
