Would this be appropriate for a bearded dragon

yes it would in a system with heat lamps as its a very good temp control regulator

Does this drop to lower set temp automatically or do you have to do it manually need different daytime and nighttime temps

I'm not sure it can do this.. It basically has a single set point, plus a difference for heating. Once it reaches the set temp it turns off and waits until the temp has dropped then switches on again.

If I put this on a timer to make it turn off at night, will it remeber the same settings when the timer turns it back on in the morning?

Yes it will. I switch it off each night at the mains and the settings remain when I turn it on in the morning
