Review: Brilliant! - What's not to love? I've got them all now! Review: Love these books, love this set! - This was a proper trip down memory lane for me; I used to love reading these books when I was at school, I liked the varied stories, the humour and loved the artwork. In fact, whenever I’ve read them years later I learnt to appreciate that the humour could appeal on both levels, for younger AND more mature readers. And when I saw that you could buy the collection in one set I couldn’t resist it, I had to buy it! It was offered at a good overall price and was packaged in a lovely presentation slipcase. Delivered quickly and well protected. The set is perfect for either reading them in order or just dipping into randomly for a more casual read. The only way that this set could be possibly improved is if it comprised of the hardback copies; although I know you can buy those individually, it’s just nice to be able to buy the whole collection as a box set. It’s a real shame that the authors have passed away and there won’t be any more. Highly recommended!

A Real Blast for The Past
Fantastic - my cousin and I used to own the originals way back in the early 70's as young boys - somehwre over time these were lost and we grew up. Well as a nostalgia blast I opted to buy this set, and am not disappointed, I am ploughing my way through them, and they are brilliant, I could not be happier.

Without display box
The books are in great condition it’s just that I was under the impression they had a box to keep them in, a box I can see in other review pictures, but I just had a fairly battered cardboard box. Packaging otherwise was A+ as despite the box being battered, the books were completely fine. Mostly great, just a bit of false advertising as there’s no box to keep them safe in and you have to buy it separate.

Purchased as gift and was received gratefully
The recipient was very happy with the gift. There was an issue with customs in Portugal but, although delaying arrival for a few days, this was dealt with very professionally by the seller.

Asterix and Obelix sure withstand the test of time. They are more fun now than when I first read them decades ago. Many people have commented on the print size and paper quality. For me, these are not issues. I highly recommend this set.

I was a bit hesitant to buy this because of the mixed reviews. But I can confirm it’s worth it. I received all 40 books in the collection, so it’s up to date for 2024. No missing books, no damage and the prints are legit.

I wanted to buy the whole set of 38 books in a box set as a gift. In other forms the earlier books which were written in the 60's were not always readily available and usually more expensive so this was the best way to get the lot. The package was well protected for its journey from New York and was in perfect condition. Very happy with the purchase and all aspects of tracking.

The set of Asterix is totally amazing. I used to borrow them from a library when I was a kid. Today I own my own collection and I am proud of it. The rate that I purchased them is also totally awesome.

I purchased this collection because it had 38 books, the other box set I was considering had 37 books. Asterix and the Chieftain's Daughter was released 6 months ago and is book #38. While the books obviously come in a box, it's not a display box so you have to pull each book out to find the one you want. I feel that for $250+ a display box would be a nice addition. This really is a great set and if you're a big Asterix fan it's definitely worth adding to your collection. I grew up on these books so it's awesome that I get to take the adventure again with my son as we read them together. One of my pictures shows the spines with the authors names. You can see where Uderzo took over after Goscinny sadly passed in 1977 and then when Uderzo retired and handed responsibilities of the books to Ferri/Conrad. I haven't read the newer books yet but I'm sure they follow the same great format as Ferri/Conrad were mentored by Uderzo. The complete list of 38 books in this set: Asterix the Gaul Asterix and the Golden Sickle Asterix and the Goths Asterix the Gladiator Asterix and the Banquet Asterix and Cleopatra Asterix and the Big Fight Asterix in Britain Asterix and the Normans Asterix the Legionary Asterix and the Chieftain's Shield Asterix at the Olympic Games Asterix and the Cauldron Asterix in Spain Asterix and the Roman Agent Asterix in Switzerland The Mansions of the Gods Asterix and the Laurel Wreath Asterix and the Soothsayer Asterix in Corsica Asterix and Caesar's Gift Asterix and the Great Crossing Obelix and Co. Asterix in Belgium Asterix and the Great Divide Asterix and the Black Gold Asterix and Son Asterix and the Magic Carpet Asterix and the Secret Weapon Asterix and Obelix All at Sea Asterix and the Actress Asterix and the Class Act Asterix and the Falling Sky Asterix and Obelix's Birthday Asterix and the Picts Asterix and the Missing Scroll Asterix and the Chariot race Asterix and the Chieftain's daughter
